🌠 The Art of Mindfully Telling Customer Godzillas to F Off?

Ever wake up one morning and think to yourself:

“Jeepers self, if only my world could exist in 33.3 RPM instead of 78 RPM… and people would think before acting!”

Well, such a miracle is actually achievable – at its most basic, it’s called ‘mindfulness’. One really cool aspect of it centers around the point before action:

Whenever someone says something that bothers you, or someone attempts to bully you, or a person tries gaslighting you, etc.etc.etc., there is always those brief few nanonseconds of existence between:

* the *provocation* (bullying, gaslighting, bothering, etc.)

and

* your *reaction* (destroying Tokyo, creating a backup tunnel for the local freeway, etc.etc.etc.)

The art of mindfulness helps *stop* you when you’re on a collision course with destruction and really unwise behavior.

Instead of simply *reacting*, you can take those few nanoseconds and actually train yourself to reflect *first* on what would happen if you give into the temptations of freeing your temper and leveling the known universe.

Apply this now to your industry. Take, for example, a colleague who thinks one of *their* colleagues’ work is not “good enough” and uses their self-imposed RoFC (Role of Future Corrections) to pull together an Internet lynch mob, ready to be judge, juror and executioner all in one.

You’ve seen those, right?

Those Really-Important-Peoples who HAVE to “protect” customers from other vendors who work differently than they do?

Well, here’s one way of dealing with it.

Person A can react to you in a way that causes you great anger, right?

BUT…

Person A does NOT own that anger.

You do.

It’s up to *you* to determine how to handle it.

And then there’s Person B who declares you’re too sensitive of an individual, ho ho ho…

Sure, you can get mad at person B. But again… You are the one allowing rent-free space in your mind to this particular tweeblehead.

Read that again:

==> You are the one allowing rent-free space in your mind to this particular tweeblehead. <==

And the Universe doesn’t care if you’ve had a lousy day, or if you’re dealing with horrendous customers, or if there are simple petty back-biting tweebleheads trying to deflate your day…

You, and *only* you… own that space between provocation and *your* reactions.

So how can you mindfully tell the big G to gently mosey along?

Simple.

Refuse to give those colleagues/customers and clients that precious rent-free space in your mind.

The next time someone tries to push *your* buttons, ask yourself.

1.) First, are they even worthy of such button-pushing? If not, view them as a human cockroach, squash them in your mind, and move on.

2.) If they ARE worthy of said button-pushing, remind yourself – you do not own their anger.

That’s their problem to deal with. Thank them for polishing your button and verifying that it still works… and then let it go.

When it comes to running a successful business online, YES.

You will get detractors and meanies and folks not worthy of being acknowledged by the Beak of Doom.

That’s reality.

However, you *can* combat huge bunches of negativity by remembering the simple concept of “Mindfulness.”

Be mindful of where you’d like your energies to be applied.

Be mindful of who is deserving of your trust.

Be mindful of those who are friendly with you simply because of what you can do for them.

Most importantly….

Be mindful of what’s *truly* important in your life.

Not bleeploads of strangers online…. but those who make your life worth living.

Your family. Your true friends.

And, like PT Barnum, show everyone else their way to the fascinating Egress.
