If so, soooo much empathy I have for you… but that’s a talk for another day and time.
Today, let’s focus instead upon that most brilliant of marketing coups – Aviation Gin taking advantage of the insanely stupid social media backlash of a holiday purchase concept:
An extremely expensive bike (2K) that shows a fit woman using it (and shows her husband in the commercial as well).
The insanely bizarre backlash?
How *dare* a commercial focus on a thin woman who shows what might be required to *stay* thin (aka health, biking and the like) and then even includes the woman’s actor husband looking on and validating her exercise?
Seriously – the insanity that arose defies description:

However, the really cool part about this?
Actor Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), besides being an actor, is also a superb marketer… and within 15 days, debuted an ad for his Aviation Gin company that used the Peloton woman actress:
What’s so incredibly brilliant about all of this?
Ryan capitalized upon the truly batty tendancies of the current “outrage culture” – look for something, anything, and then cause a huuuuge social media furor about it.
It truly does defy description.
And *thats* most likely why the following article was written:
It showcases how one company (Ryan’s company) took advantage of the big huge media backlash and basically did NOT parody it… but instead show a possible result from it (as in, why is this happening to meeeeeeeeeee?)

And….. Where was I?
Ah yes!
It’s Friday!
OMG what a day yesterday was.
See, first I was up from 2am until 5am, slept until 9am, had a slight disagreement with the husband (husband ==> Vulcan, me ==> NOT Vulcan, more Betazoid) and as usual, my emotions colored the logic the husband was sharing (although I did communicate later on, dumping logic on me when I first re-awaken is truly NOT wise).
Plus, it’s also tax season, which in the Ling family means, let the husband focus because his attitude is about as warm and friendly as mine when I have PMS (those are the times when I look up ACME flamethrowers with joy and peace).
So I chose to remove myself and work upstairs until the time for our afternoon exercising.
The drive to the facility was rather… quiet. Husband explained himself, I validated the comments and the gym commenced. We have different exercise routines, so there was 1.5 hours of us being on our own.
During that time, I did my half of swimming (yay!) and then tackled the weights which was…. character building indeed. See… I used to be able to weight-ize… 3x what I can do now.
These things happen. One has to rebuild. Still, though, as I’m above ground, it’s all good.
After the exercise, we were both in a much better frame of mind, and was able to discuss the earlier topic with zero emotion on my part (the husband generally does’nt HAVE emotions during data-based discussions).
What I reinforced within me personally was that one truly DOES own one’s reality… and when you know what you need to do (and fail to stick to the plan), it’s no surprise when the plan goes sideways.

The future is always in motion, so learning when/where/how to tackle discussions ==> good thing indeed.
A very powerful lesson indeed.

Ah yes!
It’s Thursday!
Totally smooshed up the usual attempt for resetting sleep…
… and yep, it’s heck. Still, though, if its worth trying to work your way thru something… you don’t give up that first time.
Was able to do my hour biking (yay!)
Had a good convo with some of our coaching students and I’ve realized that yet again…
It’s how you deal with adversary that helps you cope with the future challenges.
So I wrote:
“Today has been quite the character-building day. Allowed a very small, minor thingee to be a tipping point to my emotions. That would normally be fine except it manifested itself by a rather unmindful convo between me and an exceptionally grand individual.
The hell of it was, I *knew* I was letting my emotions get the better of me. Normally I listen to that knowledge and stop myself – today was not that case.
Recovered myself 5 minutes later or so and apologized. Still, it was totally unworthy of me.
Words have effects, no matter what is said afterwards.
Other things occurred that basically made me say, time for removing myself from work. Did, regrouped, and here I am at not a nice normal 4am.
Your takeaway? Remove yourself from social interaction if you *know* you’re going to be chomping on your foot, later on.
The good news is that I got the news that my 2nd Shingles shot is available (yay!). Will probably get that done on the weekend so I can handle Thursday and Friday well.
