Today is 2012!
Do you know where your focus is gonna be?
I sure know mine!
And it's this.
Build up a community for my customers
Sure, it's easy to make products every week (do it all the time!). But that's just one aspect of my business, I realize.
You see…
- Once something has been bought, I don't want to lose touch!
Building a business online…it's *not* just a one-shot deal.
It's something that can grow and grow and grow!
So I want to ensure my customers have a place where they can discuss such things. Ideally, I'll be partnering with other like-minded folk to achieve this.
Which brings me to you!
One great way to create focus for your 2012 is to ask yourself:
- "Self, how can I best benefit my lifeblood (ie, my customers) so they come back and bring their friends?"
Here's 3 easy ideas to help jumpstart your own thoughts.
1.) Make it EASY for customers to get on your mailing list.
Can't really benefit your customers/visitors if you can't contact them in the future!! So ensure it's easy for them to optin to your site (after a purchase, to grab a goodie, etc.etc.).
This is key, critical, and you're leaving money on the table if you fail to do this!
I use aWeber meself. Highly recommended.
2.) Make it PROFITABLE for customers to get on your mailing list.
Did someone buy something?
- Do you follow up with a customer care sequence?
- Do you offer a discount off of a future purchase?
- Do you send them a thank you?
- 7 days later, do you follow up yet again with another bonus?
See what I mean?
3.) Make it WORTHWHILE for customers to tell their friends about you!
The best way to build your business is via word of mouth.
- How do you encourage viral marketing on your site?
- Do you engage readers on your Facebook fan page?
- Do you simply ASK your customers to tell their friends about you?
Hmmm?
Remember, the more people who adore your services/products…the more your reputation will spread.
And that, of course, is a Very Good Thing indeed. 🙂
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
