Morning!
Today I was given the ultimate of a character-building opportunity!
You see, I’m one of the original pioneers in Internet Recruiting (have been teaching the subject since 1998) and I decided to update my flagship site, RISE.
Well! Imagine my joy and excitement when I realized my older blog of that name had (get this!) several hundred posts I could re-activate for quality content!
Yippie, shrieked I in a quiet gleeful vibrantly bouncy way! I would be able to instantly populate my site once again!
And then….
Imagine my frustration when WordPress basically laughed in my face and said, Jeepers! I think I’ll time out because the file is TOOOO huge!
Wah!
The heavens darkened with fear, the sunlight melted away and all that was left was an empty coffee cup of despair and agony!
But! Not to fear!
For I, dear intrepid reader, decided to poke around and gaze upon how I could fix this horrible horrible opportunity for mega gray hairs.
Thus began (insert ominous music tone here) my quest for A Simple Bleepin’ WordPress Export Function that (gasp!) Just Freakin’ Worked!
What a concept, I know.
You see, the current WordPress export function is currently sadder than a toddler whose last bit of ice cream was chomped on by the family doggie. We’re talking sadder than a fish WITHOUT a bicycle, sadder than a coffee cup WITHOUT coffee, sadder than….okay, I guess you get the idea. 🙂
Anywhos! Here’s what I uncovered … and what you can use yourself should you find yourself wanting to export ONLY a single category or other quantities of posts.
I present to you:
Advanced Category Export for WordPress & WordPress MultiUser
It allows you to export based upon Category, Content, Status, Tag/Category terms and more!
I know what I’ll be doing this afternoon…. 🙂
Hope it helps you out too!
Enjoy,
Barbara Ling
