Day 1 of Make Money Online – Take A Good Look At Yourself

Morning!

Today is Day 1 of my awesomely magnificent Make Money Online Tutorial!  And for today's topic, of course, we're going to focus on:

Take A Good Look At…*Yourself*

You see, whenever you take a peek at Internet marketing, you'll be pummeled by a bazillion different *idea*.

• Make Money Online by Affiliate Marketing!
• Make Money Online with CPA!
• Make Money Online by Building Websites!
• Make Money Online by Filling Out Surveys!
• Make Money Online with SEO!
• Make Money Online by Making Facebook Fanpages!
• Make Money Online by Focusing On Becoming a Client!
• Make Money Online with Squidoo!

And so on, and so on.

I'm not going to even tackle how feasible the above stuff is, because there's one thing first you simply *have* to internalize before you even *begin* to consider making money.

And it's this.

Know Thyself!

One of the biggest, hugest, most massive problems known to humankind, bigger than 392 cloned Godzillas nestled on an atomic island somewhere, is "being seduced by (drumroll please!) The Dream."

In other words, you see an offer online and say to yourself…

"OMG Self, this is such a non-brainer and so what if I have not a clue as to how to do what's required….I can leeeeaaaarrrrnnnnnn it!  Where's my credit card????"

And that's truly a shame.

You see…

Putting the steps in place to make money online is *hard*, continuous work.

As in, until you have in place all the requirements for passive income online, you have to work at it, day by day, week by week, month by month and yes, year by year.

Which, actually, is as it should be.

Here's why.

The Internet is always changing and that means, the ways money can be made…are always evolving too.

Think about it – 4 years ago, "mobile" was a non-consideration.  Now?  Now, millions of people are accessing the Internet via their mobile phones…thus giving entrepreneurs a whole new way to make money online as well.

But to embrace that opportunity…you need to give yourself *permission* to learn about that opportunity….and then *implement* said opportunity.

There's the kicker, see?

The plain fact is….

There are some skills that you simply will *not* want to embrace.

Using myself as an example, I *hate* direct selling.  'matter of fact, I loathe it with a glowering passion that's only slightly less massive than my heartfelt feelings about angsting emo teens who whine that their teachers expect action in exchange for not failing their grades.

So, you could give me a Make Money Online by Direct Selling product, guarantee I'll make millions, and bammo!  I'll fail dismally.

Simply because, I HATE direct selling!!

Now, that's okay, of course – there's nothing inscribed on the Internet that decrees, I have to do everything avvailable!

I only have to do what works….for *me*.

Which brings me to the point of this blog post.

To successfully make good money online, you have to *know* yourself.

What are your technical skills?

• Do you know how to create a webpage?
• Do you know how to create a blog?
• Do you know how to create an entire niche site?
• Do you know how to make an affiliate link?
• Do you know how to cloak an affiliate link?
• Do you understand SEO and when it is important?

More importantly…if you do *not* know the above, but the methods you choose require knowing the above…

Are you willing to learn?

I mean, *really* willing to learn?

Hmmmm?

Because if you're not, you'll never be successful in making money online.

In a nutshell, you need to give yourself permission to become a student and *learn*.

The good news is, there are literally 100s and 100s of tutorials out there on the Internet that will teach you any techie skill imaginable!

For example, look over at:

• Free beginners computer tutorials
  
• Free Online tutorials
  

Yep, they're all free!

And if you want specific tutorials, you can simply google them too.

For example, HTML5 is a new thingee coming down the pike.  If you search on

• html5 tutorials
  

You'll find:

• 50 Useful HTML 5 Tutorials
  
• HTML5 Rocks Tutorials
  

See how easy it is?  (I learned about this from a friend of mine who runs DesignerLost Adwords – very tech-savvy guy indeed).  I know it's something I'm  going to want to learn…and now I know how to teach myself.

That's the key, you know….

You have to be open to the fact….

You're going to have to *proactively* teach yourself.

Sure, you can ask for help in forums and the like, but…

Your success will be tremendously increased if you give yourself permission to take complete and total ownership of *both* your successes *and* failures*.

And that means…you have to put yourself out there and *learn* what's truly required to make money online.

You see, there *is* no short cut, there *is* no silver bullet, there *is* no effortless way.

But!  Put in the hard work and the effort and know yourself to the point you know what you can and cannot do….

And you'll be in a far better position to make money online.
