Good morning!
The Internet…it’s amazing how quickly it changes every day, aye? I mean, one day we’re brazenly surfing the net at a blinding 2.4KB BPS, and the next – megaFiber that puts your speed somewhere between “sound barrier” and “light”.
One of the biggest problems with the speed of technology is how quickly your beloved applications and fav sites can change, go out of date, implode and all that delightful nonsense. Heck, it was just mentioned today that FB loosened up their image restrictions.
Were you even *aware* of that? Did you take advantage of that?
And the worst thing is, such updates happen All…The…Time….and end up causing *you* to drop your marketing ball.
Case in point: have you ever found yourself saying:
“I never heard about the change!”
Well, unless you’ve made it so you’re automatically alerted, ‘course you wouldn’t have heard about it.
Solution: If your marketing depends upon a particular service/software, set up a Google Alert for that product. You can have news alerts sent directly to your email, or even grab the RSS feed and add it to your Google Reader.
I love Google Reader myself (and am *really* hoping they choose NOT to end the service). It’s a grand must-have for your marketing – learn more about it at
You can ALWAYS keep abreast of changes of particular products/platforms – the above works grand!
Next, did you ever think:
“It’s too difficult to learn!”
Sometimes, new developments come about that require (gasp!) you STOP what you’re doing and teach yourself, or hand off that responsibility to your Virtual Assistants.
Now, if you do not HAVE a VA, you’re kinda sorta hosed…unless you (and this is really important) give yourself permission to *learn*.
The great thing about that is …. often, it’s not as difficult as you would have thought!
You can search for free online courses at
The plain fact is… if you choose NOT to learn….you’ve just dropped the marketing ball bigtime. Why? Because nobody *else*….will do it for you.
You could even visit Youtube and search for
- niche “how to”
- niche tutorial
ie
See?
There’s always reasons why things might be a wee bit difficult to tackle. But the good news is…. there’s always a solution if you choose to think outside the box.
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
