Resumes NEVER get you the job. Instead, they get you this – Job Seeker Tip

Are you currently angsting about your career resume?

Do you spend 4,382 hours every day going over every minute detail in hopes that it will get you a job?

If so, I hate to tell you….you're spinning your wheels less effectively than a unicycle can compete in a vertical logging contest.

And here's why.

Your resume will never ever EVER get you a job.

Never ever!

Think about it.  What needs to happen after someone decides you're a worthy job seeker contender for the position?

You need to have an interview.

What happens during that?

You need to impress the person actually interviewing you.

You could be smarter than Einstein teaching grammar school physics and if you fail to impress your interviewer, your career aspirations will get tossed into the Big Black Hole of Circular File Doomeness.

What happens after a successful interview?

You have to negotiate your salary.

You have to weight the perks/benefits against the requirements.

You have to start making plans on how to incorporate your future job into your present day schedule.

But notice one key critical thingee.

We've gone from someone interviewing you…to you obtaining the position.

Why did you score the interview in the first place?

You scored it *solely* because your resume *intrigued* the employer.

And did your resume intrigue the employer?

Because that human being read something that resonated with him or her.

You see, your resume is *not* the key by which you obtain a job….instead, it's the marketing technique that you can use to compel attention.

In other words, your resume is part of your marketing calling card.

You want your resume to excite.

To intrigue!

To tell the employers what's in it for them to give you a chance to use their time and score the job!

That's why your resume will never get you the job; your conduct will do that.

Instead, your resume will get you your foot…in the door.

The question is, once said foot is happily gazing about the room….what will your next step be?

To be continued….

Enjoy!
