Morning!
QUICK!!!!! Do you live for NASCAR?
You know, that sport where bunches of race car drivers compete in the Sprint Cup series, the Nationwide Series and the Craftsman Truck series? The sport that generates billions of dollars of sales every year?
The sport that has thousands of eBay items on which you can earn affiliate commissions, and Amazon.com items such as apparel, jackets, backpacks, software, fan gear and much much more?
These are all the things that can help you generate a very nice affiliate income indeed.
And here’s how!
Step 1.) Buy a NASCAR-related domain name and put a blog on it.
Certainly, you can create a blog entitled “NASCARDRIVERS.com” (already taken, alas). But why not use other related NASCAR terms as well? Consider:
Often, I will incorporate words such as ‘power’ or ‘tips’ or ‘news’ or ’secrets’ if I’m going to try and make money from a domain…but you can also brand your site with your own unique personality as well. If you need some great NASCAR-related words, check out the NASCAR glossary.
Of course, once you settle on a domain name, you’ll need to host it online some place.
Want inexpensive domain resources? Check out:
- GoDaddy
- HostGator
- DotEasy
- NewWebsite – special deal!
Got that down? Terrific! But hang on, an opportunity now arises. A domain is simply the place on which you’ll put your useful NASCAR-related goodies such as your blog.
Your NASCAR blog.
Your NASCAR blog that has your affiliate links!
And that brings me to:
Step 2.) Obtain an eBay and Amazon and Commission Junction affiliate ID.
This is highly important because these 3 programs will provide you with the majority of your commissions.
Sign up HERE for Amazon.com and HERE for eBay and HERE for CJ.
The amount of NASCAR-related goodies rabid fans can purchase online is truly staggering. NASCAR apparel, NASCAR watches, NASCAR signatures, NASCAR hot wheels, NASCAR memorabilia….if you can slap a NASCAR thingee on it, chances are…it already exists and is waiting to be bought (preferably thru your affiliate link).
See?
Here’s what some of the current eBay NASCAR collectibles look like:
Next, you need to:
Step 3.) Get your NASCAR-themed blog up and running.
There are four critical things that you have to do regarding your blog:
- Set up categories
- I’d recommend to start off simple, like:
- NASCAR News
- NASCAR Gossip
- Fantasy NASCAR
- I’d recommend to start off simple, like:
- Download/install anti-spam plugins (learn more here)
- Incorporate affiliate programs to blog template. Both Amazon and eBay offer you suggestions on how to do this. On my blogs, I put the affiliate programs in my sidebar and also within the single page postings as well. Search on Commission Junction for NASCAR affiliates too. You can add their banner links to your sidebars.
- Install the CommentLuv plugin. When people post on your blog, this will pull up their latest post…thus encouraging them to participate.
So! You now have the blog set up and waiting for you – it’s time to find NASCAR news and such about which to write. Jump now to:
Step 4.) Search Out NASCAR Feeds.
Visit to Google Alerts and set up a comprehensive alert for
- NASCAR
This is useful because you’ll now be alerted whenever news or blog postings or forum postings etc. about NASCAR show up.
Next, visit Google and search for
You should come across topnotch NASCAR sites like:
Add the feeds you’d like to your Feedreader.
Once that is completed, search for
This will deliver to your blogs that center on NASCAR, such as:
Continue adding feeds until you have about 2 dozen of them; that’s enough to give you NASCAR articles and content about which you can write.
And once you’re ready to rock…
Step 5.) Blog!
Now you can start blogging about NASCAR and what it means to you and other fans to your own personal NASCAR blog. You can begin with covering current NASCAR news, talking about Women in NASCAR, NASCAR gossip and then move to product reviews from Amazon.com (with your affiliate link, of course) and more.
But wait! There’s one more thing you should do:
Step 6.) Visit other NASCAR blogs and comment with knowledge.
If you offer useful comments at other NASCAR blogs, a direct link to your own personal NASCAR site will show up on the Internet. This is excellent to help drive traffic to your own blog.
Keep in mind – it will take time to build your NASCAR affiliate income. That’s a fact.…however, if you consistently write good NASCAR content and follow tried and true marketing practices, your readership will increase as the weeks go by. And as you offer all the discounts and NASCAR goodies savings embedded in your site, your affiliate income should increase as well.
Ain’t life grand?
Hope the above is helpful!
