One of the cool things about growing bolder is that, well, you’re above ground TO grow bolder.
(all together now – yay!)
Reality-speaking, however… the plain facts ARE that you might possibly slow down after you’ve reached the 2 century mark.
I was reminded of this… yesterday… when I found that I’m no longer able to do 20 hours/day, days on end (think all-nighters) whenever needed! ![]()
And truly internalizing that can really be more character-building than coffee that lacks caffeine. Your mind says go go go! while your body says ha ha ha!
But here’s the thing. What do you do if people need you when your body is in the midst of hahahaing?
I’ve discovered that you modify your attack plan!
Instead of insisting your body acts like it used to, 1.75 centuries ago… you give yourself permission to restructure your *available time*.
Need to be present 24×7? Let your friends know that you’ll need to set aside some hours to sleep/take care of chronic pain/etc.
Need to be present only 23.99×7 hours? Do the same. ![]()
Can’t be present as much as needed? Offer your phone number to be “on call” as you collapse from exhaustion because of earlier gallivanting across the wild blue younder.
See, even IF your body continuously reminds you that you’re no longer a spry 27 year old, you can (almost always) cobble up helpful ideas that enable you to take care of yourself while providing the necessary comfort and help that Important People truly deserve.
Your takeaway?
Physically, you might not be SuperPerson anymore… but your Inner Hero will always be there to help you fly by the seat of your pants and take care of others while you take care of yourself.
Enjoy!
