Ever wake up one morning and realize that yep, it’s time to take your thyroid pill (before food, apparently) and then realize that yep – it’s time to be nice and scientific and do the weigh-in thing that you agreed upon earlier in the week?
If not, trust me, ’tis not a bowl of dancing cherries, however…
Getting into morning routines is a very Smart Thing to do indeed!
Thing is…
What if you tend to angst about the results of said morning routines?
This is one reason why I HATE with an undying passion the concept of, say…
Weight loss scales.
The main reason being, of course, is that scales measure EVERYTHING in your body along with the fat (aka water retention, muscle, bones, etc.).
And if you *really* want to throw your angst (if you are prone to angst about this, mind you) into high turbo fashion, try weighing yourself on 3 different scales, one after the other.
I’d bet my morning coffee that you’ll see 3 different weight results.
Of course, human technology being what it is, you can buy those really coolio scales that you can then download an app to your smart phone and theoretically it will tell you all sorts of nifty measurements like:
Visceral fat
Muscle mass
Muscle quality
Total body water
Fat free body weight
Basal Metabolism
Subcutaneous fat
and more.
But I digress.
The thing is… all of the above *changes* over time (obviously).
And if you base your morning attitude based upon whatever weight fairy decided your weight is this morning… it could be either yippy! or wahhhhh.
So you give up your control over your attitude… to something that’s going to change anyways (depending upon how good you take care of your health).
You can use this same approach to business. For many folk, the first thing they do is check email/read Facebook/monitor sales and the like.
Thing is…. today, this morning, the specific dot of time that you choose to do whatever, is only one data point of you and your business and your future.
And sure, things might look dismal at that particular datapoint.
But that does NOT mean that things will not improve in the future.

Case in point – after having my morning breakfast/coffee/water/etc, my weight was 3 pounds more than my morning weight. Which makes sense, of course.
Thing is….
With all of the social media angst floating around regarding all sorts of success… you might be tempted to beat yourself up if your morning data point isn’t what you desired.
Don’t.
Take control instead of your reality perception (aka, its one data point and not your entire journey) and let it go.
Your business mood should definite improve after that.
Enjoy!
