The CRITICAL Step All Affiliate Marketers MUST Do Without Fail– Affiliate Marketing Tip #1

Today's post is brief, pithy, and tremendously *to* the point.

Do you want to know what the number one, critical step ALL (not just some….ALL) affiliate marketers *must* do?

Now, I'm not talking about:

• Maybe
  
• Sometimes
  
• Once in a blue moon
  

No indeed, I'm talking about *every single bleeping time* you market an affiliate product.

Are you ready?

Are you waiting?

Are you beset with joy and angst and utter spine-tingling anticipation?

It's this.

In other words…

You need to generate big huge bunches of targeted niche traffic to actually *visit* your blasted affiliate link in the first place!!

oOo…what I said.  🙂

Seriously, gentle reader.

It's a numbers game, by and by…and you need the numbers to get the not *only* the clicks…but the *buys* as well.

So how do you do this?

Glad you asked!  Here are some of my favorite ways:

1.)  Use your list.

You know, your newsletter or ezine?

Or perhaps your free 7 day eclass list?

Or maybe your free white paper list?

Use your list.!

2.)  Promote your affiliate link on Twitter/Facebook

I personally have no problem with every now and then telling the world about a product in which I get a commission. 

Make sure to cloak your link as well.

For example, I just received email about making money with coffee.  So I promptly tweeted:

If you love #coffee and want to make money with coffee, have you seen is.gd/ev36TG ?

I'll probably tweet that again, because I forgot one key thingee.

And that is:

3.)  Ask others to retweet your link

And once you've tweeted said link, ask others to retweet it!

The more that is done…the more exposure you'll get, ideally resulting in the more targeted traffic.

4.)  Blog about it via a review!

Got a great affiliate link you want to promote?

Write a review of the product!

Or if that's not a question, write a compelling story that incorporates the affiliate link and sends traffic over there.

5.)  Blog about it via "here's a goodie I uncovered today!"

Don't want to write a story?

Write instead a daily recap that includes the affiliate link to the tune of, "Hey there, I came across something that would probably interest XYZ people.  It's ABCAffLink and here's what stood out to me…"

6.)  Drive traffic to it via Pay Per Click

Want to pay for traffic?

Use Google Adwords!

There are bunches more ways one can increase your targeted traffic to your affiliate link, but hopefully the above will give you a great place at which to start.

Remember, affiliate marketing is useless with a capital U if you fail in getting quality, targeted traffic to your links!
