🌠Beware, beware, beware the links you click

Ever try to solve something and search online?

If so, ever get sooooo used to a service name that if you discover a reputable-looking source, you would immediately click on the hyperlinked name?

This is something not good at all, alas. Sad

Awhile back, I had the wonderful opportunity to search out an answer to some obscure bit of crypto stuff, and discovered a page that had the following name

Chainlist

hyper-linked. Now, the official site is

chainlist.org

but this particular page, instead of using a .org, used a .wtf .

Incredible.

And if one looked at the site (I did), one would see … some rather nefarious thingees indeed!

Your takeaway?

Always check the links you consider clicking on, even via respectable-looking pages…

The money you save might be your own.

Enjoy!
