Morning!
With all the excitement of guest postings lately, I'd like to showcase some other authors on me blog. And today, the focus is on…..SuperDeDuper Business eMails!
So without any further ado:
How To Write Compelling Business E-mails That Will Create Responsive Results
Your squeeze page is what gets your prospect buying, but it’s the e-mail that gets them to the squeeze page. Writing e-mails for membership lists is a major challenge for lots of internet marketers. It has to be something that will get them interested in checking out the site. Another challenge is that it has to be personalized, so it should sound like an e-mail to a friend.
What lots of younger marketers don’t know is that we don’t start from scratch with each e-mail message. Rather, there’s a kind of template that we all follow. This formula has been proven over time to get results. All you have to do is take this template and fashion it for your own message. It goes a little something like this:
The Subject Line – Stand Out From The Rest
First, there’s the subject line. Keep in mind that this may be all they see. If it’s boring, they won’t open the message to see what it says. So, we need to make it eye catching.
In order to do this, there are certain keywords we use in subject lines. These are the words your members are looking for. They include words that allude to discovering things – “how to,” “find out how,” “discover.” They also contain keywords related to prosperity like “successful” and “power.” Usually, they’ve got some good adjectives like “amazing,” “incredible” or “unbelievable.” And finally, you’ll score big if you put something about “hidden secrets.”
After you write your subject line, think:
"Would YOU want to see what this message is all about?"
That’s what you want to do.
Hello Your Name…
Next is the greeting. Most subscription services allow you to write “Hi [first name]” and it will automatically plug in the member’s name. This makes it look more personal. Using a person’s first name has a powerful psychological effect.
If you don’t have that option, you can say something like “Hello Profit Seeker,” “Attention Affiliate Marketers” or “To All Serious Internet Marketers.” Make it something that speaks to them.
You should also have two quick sentences that grab their attention. Again, appeal to their wants. Make it bold. It can also be a question. It should lead directly into the first paragraph. If it’s a question, make the first sentence of the paragraph start to answer it. If it’s a statement, you can even have the first sentence of the paragraph finish it. The point is to get them from the attention grabbing sentences to the body of your message.
The Formula For Your Message Body
Here’s how you should write your message body:
– Another paragraph that’s 3-4 lines long.
– A sentence that leads into bullet points – 5 max.
– A small paragraph with 2-3 lines that summarizes your bullet points.
– Your active link.
Finally, there’s one more part of your message body. It’s the “call to action.” It tells the reader what they have to DO to get these benefits. This should make it sound urgent, and it should tell them exactly what the product’s going to do for them. So, to summarize – How they get it, why they should get it and what they need to do NOW.
Wrap It Up
Finally, give them one more sentence and your goodbye salutation. This should be something like “Best Wishes” or “To Your Success,” and your name.
But wait – we’re not done yet!
Add a PS.
You’ll notice that all of these business e-mails and salespages have one. This is because they’re natural eye-catchers and they offer a great place to make them another offer. Adding a PSS will work even better.
There you have it – the formula for writing a great business e-mail. Give it a try and tweak as necessary. To your success!
