Sometimes…we decide we're going to change our personality.
- Like me!
And sometimes, we decide we're no longer going to look out for people who take advantage of us.
- Like me!
But sometimes, we take that attitude a weee bit *too* far….
- Like me! 🙂
As you know if you've been reading my blog, I've gone thru a personal transformation in which I've promised myself I will *stop* giving my concern and love etc. to people who take advantage of it.
And so far, it's been going most dandily indeed!
Heck, there's been Facebook Fan Page owner updates that I could have alerted page owners to, and site building techniques I could have proactively done for someone if they had held to their word and gotten back to me and the like.
And the *new* Barbara simply said to herself, screw that. I'm not wasting my efforts.
Yay!
The thing is, though, the *new* Barbara has to still realize….not everyone….is a user.
It's sure tough to remember that, I will admit.
But it's the rock-bottom truth.
Luckily, even with my "Screw the World" attitude, I still found myself willing to be proactive and do the right thing for a friend of mine yesterday.
I didn't even realize it…until I received a response and it dawned on me:
The hoped-for action would *never* have had a chance to occur … if I *hadn't* been proactive.
Couldn't wipe the smile off my face!
You see, I am not a learned man, but I do know….what's *right*.
And you know something?
My actions of 2+ months ago that were done from the heart….they were right too.
Even if they resulted in a spectacular fail.
Thus today, tell yourself that you're going to do the *right* thing. Screw negative feelings, forget 'playing the game'…..
Do the *right* thing.
Honestly….it's what makes the world go 'round.
