Morning!
Quick! Here's a question for you!
How is a digital copier like a computer?
They both have hard drives!
Hard drives that store data!
And …. (drumroll please!)
Data like everything that's copied or faxed or emailed by the copier machine!
Data that (get this!) might NOT be erased when the copier is sold or leased to another!!
Don't believe me? Watch this.
So what's the solution? It's certainly getting attention:
- Photocopier Fallout: FTC "Concerned" About Copier Security
- That old copier still holds a picture of your backside
And of course, you can ask for your information never to be copied (which has a much chance for success as, oh, gee, I don't know, asking teenagers NOT to use the word "like" 392 in every sentence).
But it's truly something every expert should know about.
Enjoy,
Barbara Ling
