It’s Monday!
Let me tell you – Sunday was… interesting indeed.
First, the husband and I had a great swim date (yay!):
Notice my tshirt – I’ve now added Dragons to my ‘get stuff done’ mode. 🙂
The husband made me lunch (he’s getting *really* good, someday I’ll have to write about it) and then I started work once more.
I noticed a rather odd thing in my SnowMoose group – a post was reported (and it was one about how to handle really strong dogs who pull a lot).
I pinged the person (after all, this SnowMoose group is overseen by the Spirit of the Kingly Moose over at:

) and I asked, why did you report the post?
Then I started reading some of the comments and wow oh wow, a rather rancid tweeblehead apparently emerged who was an *Extreme* jerk to this very nice individual.
I posted in response:
“Person XYZ BACK THE F*CK OFF or I will ban your sorry behind from this group ASAP!
Person ABC is quite correct that prong collars can work grand – I used them when walking the Kingly Moose in his youth as well.
First and last warning. #AdminSpeaks“
Then I added the following PSA:
“PSA from the Spirit of the Kingly Moose!
“Hear ye, hear ye.
We are a grand and glorious kingdom of various and sundry beliefs.
That’s one of the wonders of living here.
We ALL have our beliefs.
And if you disagree with someone else’s belief, that is your prerogative.
It is NOT your prerogative to be a jerky tweeblehead and insult people with whom you disagree (I’m looking at YOU Person XYZ!).
For the record – prong collars are just *dandy* for those who know how to use them well. They might not be YOUR cup of coffee – deal with it.
Remember – our community is one of the best SnowMoose groups there is… because we value courtesy and kindness.

Ever wake up one morning and realize that your entire self-worth was based upon the number of Instagram likes your posts received?
It’s actually not such a far fetch concept either – one only has to check out:

can show some of the rather insidious effects of attaching one’s self-image to social media platforms that are replete with tweebleheads who only want to insult others to make their own personal drama less hurtful.
Well, this just showed up:

For instance, Elle pointed out that brands care much more about hiring influencers with high engagement rates on their posts than they do about follower count. This change does make it harder to become a new influencer, as the swipe-up feature is only available to accounts with over 10,000 followers. So, if you are a micro-influencer, you might have a problem.
Brian Fanzo says it is all about trust: “Instagram is forcing people to decide who they trust and what content they truly care about. If you are shown which of your friends like a piece of content as opposed to how many people like it, you have to make a choice as to how much that content (or that person) resonates with you.” As a result, Fanzo does not see a problem for micro-influencers as they have loyal and trustworthy followers. Signs of trust and connection can be found in story replies, sales, anonymous Q&As, and polls….”
So for whatever reason, such a thingee might be coming down the road.
And what will the effect be?
A very good question indeed!
But think about it as well….
“Likes” can translate into “dollars” for companies who are willing to pay via this metric.
In the future, perhaps companies can provide “royalties” if customers come from particular influencers.
But in any case…
… turning on a dime is a very wise action indeed!
You could even create a cheatsheet about this like so:
Step 1.) Learn all about Instagram hashtags
Step 2.) Take advantage of the best instagram apps out there to create the kind of content that is shared
Step 3.) Remember – it’s a business and not a hobby (if you want to profit from it!)

Ah yes!
It’s Sunday!
Decent day was Saturday kinda sorta maybe a little bit and then massive smooshies.
First, I *did* get to bike for 50 minutes (yay!) and then the gym for 30 minutes (yay!):
and then my right ankle decided to stop working (not yay whatsoever!).
Then I came home, and found out that the early college one of my kids went to…
… had a horrible incident. I wrote about it:
“Apparently for the past 3 weeks, the N word was written in public student union spaces.
Not much was done.
And yesterday at 2:30pm, an African American girl was dragged off a path at 2:30pm in the afternoon and stabbed. She is recovering.
Apparently it was ONLY after that, that there was a higher police presence at the campus itself.
And yet, there are some folks who are saying, no, its not a racial incident/hate crime, its a crime of someone deeply mentally ill who has lots of issues.
I don’t get it. Colleges (especially early colleges, where the kids are ‘way younger than normal colleges) should be a safe place.
Then again, I suppose if an amoral person wants to destroy lives, focusing on the younger lives is ‘way easier.
I hope the true attacker is caught and he is thrown into a jail where he is the minority and has the experience of Epstein-level security.”
Racism is horrible (especially in this day and age!!).
I ache for that kid who was attacked in broad daylight (and as its an early college – the kids there are only ages 15 to 18).
So disgusting. 🙁
