You know, every now and then I simply have to wonder how on earth teenagers became actual adults.

So yep, had a gym date with the husband:

Weight loss is working again now that I’ve learned a bit more about healthy eating but I’ll share more about that perhaps tomorrow.
Had another excellent discussion with one of my kids (the most mature one of them all) and it astonishes me how easy it is to talk with that kid compared to the others.
Giving space, I think makes the most sense – sometimes, people have to grow up on their own.

You wake up one morning, open up your email, and see 93476947 new emails just screaming for your attention (unless you’re me and constantly forget to check emails. But I digress).
How on earth can you tackle such a ravening beast?
Personally, I prefer pretending those emails do NOT exist.
But it doesn’t quite work that way.
Luckily, there is:

Replete with not 1, not 2 but 23(!) “Tame Your eMail Inbox” tips, it includes:
Allocate a specific time for email every day (“never” is not an option alas)
Hit that “delete” button (Kinda tough when you have 52,392 emails, but hey. It’s character building!)
Labels, folders, and categories to the rescue (oh.so.brilliant!)
And a one page cheatsheet? Why not create one like so:
Step 1.) Search on Google for your type of email client… and then tack on “management tips”
Step 2.) Create folders/labels/boxes/containers/storage facilities/ to parse your email
Step 3.) Commit to maintaining a “doable” eMail schedule.

Yep definitely Saturday.
Went to the doc on Friday morning and late morning. Took the husband for an eyes appt, and me for my usual appt.
Took a nap (that was good) and came back to see one of my kids had quite the meltdown.
Totally caught me by surprise.
Hopefully it has been resolved because at some point or another, kids need to learn – the world is the way it is and not the way you want it to be.
Sigh.
