Morning!
I just watched the most incredible video about Internet filtering; apparently what you see in search results, and what I see in search results…can be starkly different indeed.
Watch this first….
Is that a huge flapping earlobe or what?
Think about it.
Perhaps compelling content from your site appears in Google news, Facebook updates and the like.
Who is to say that your targeted customer market actually *sees* these pages from their platform of choice, and that it's *not* filtered out by the Internet Filter Bubble?
Hmmmm?
This is yet another reason why simply relying upon SEO (search engine optimization) is just not enough these business days. Equally as important, if not more so…you simply *have* to take advantage of social networking and building up your reputation within your niche.
That way, the more people who like your content and link to your content and talk about your content….the higher the probability that future customers will see it *without* relying on the All Powerful GoogleMeister.
The speaker also wrote a book about it that debuted earlier this month:
What I found extremely disturbing is the fact that said filter lessens the opportunities for learning more online.
The world simply cannot exist in a bubble, and you as an entrepreneur…cannot market within only a select group of customers.
In other words….
The world deserves to know you exist!
How will *you* tackle this issue? Me, I'm simply going to ensure I beef up my social networking and community building; the time for relying upon Google is 'waaaay past.
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
