How To Boldly Handle Unexpected Lightning While Happily Teaching Webclasses

And other assorted thingees….  🙂

Good morning!

I had meant to write this yesterday except I was totally smooshified by the past week’s events.

So sit down and pull up a comfy chair and get ready to raptly read a Ling Lurid Tale of Terror!

See, on Wednesday night, I was invited by David Perdew to give a talk about RSS. Most thoughtfully indeed, Mother Nature decided that sending the entire electricity of Colorado straight into NJ was quite appropriate, and so massive booms and crashes appeared in the audio.

Imagine the following, if you will. There you are, calmly sitting in front of your computer when out of the corner of your eye, you see the chandelier weave slowly back and forth. <Clink!> <Clink!> <Clink!> Your mooses begin sleathily pace the room and graduate into blindly scurrying from one child’s bedroom to another child’s bedroom (did I mention Moose Major is 100+ pounds?), back to your office to glare their “IJDUT – The WORLD is ENDING!” look at you, zoom back to the kids’ room, etc.

Your voice starts to shake so you stoically grab your courage with both coffeecups and reprimand yourself….

Grab the spine-tingling conclusion at

It’s pretty amusing indeed.  🙂

Grow strong,

Barbara Ling
