Admit it.
You know you want it.
Right?
You know that right now, your pulse is quickening, your breath is coming faster, the fibers of your very being are yearning to get it….NOW.
Not yesterday, not a minute in the future….NOW.
The soul-rending desire, the knowledge that what you crave and must have above all…it's affecting your emotions right now.
Isn't it? It's okay, you can admit it to me. After all, I know you want to.
I know you *want* it.
Right?
You're covertly thinking about what you're going to do with it when you have it in your control, I know you are.
What's the first action you will take?
Will you:
- Feast your eyes…
- Touch with your sensitive fingers…
- Taste with unrestrained pleasure…
- Seize with nary a concern for discomfort…
Well?
What….will *you* do?
And not only that but
Well hello there! It's confession time!
Admit it – you were pulled in by the writing, right?
You probably couldn't even stop yourself to see what tactile feeling/sensation I'd conjure up in you next, eh?
Wouldn't it be smashing if you could compel the same reactions in your holiday readers…so they'd be more fascinated by buying *your* product for the holidays?
I know I sure would! And there's a lot of ways to do this: You could click here include click here subliminal click here advertising, you could craft a magnificent storyline that sweep your readers into a bold daring adventure with themselves as the hero, much like:
Okay, perhaps not *quite* like that, maybe more like:
Well, with people mind you, and okay, I digress. 🙂
Anywhos!
Back to seducing more of your worthy readers for the holiday sales!
It's actually pretty easy, especially if you follow these 5 brilliantly coffee-worthy tips.
1.) Dynamically luscious headlines are your friends.
You can have figurative naked Macgyvers or (gee, who's considered hot these days as far as women go? Fill in the blank here….) whatever, but unless visitors actually *click* on your link to gaze upon said utterly delightful gee-can-you-send-me Richard-Dean-Anderson AKA-Macgyver as my holiday gift, preferably with shiny red ribbons strategically…ummm….wrapped….all of your excellent products and services will simply not been seen.
All together now….WAH!
So make certain your headlines zing past your readers' logic and straight into their hard rigid emotions. 'Kay?
2.) Bullet points are your buddies!
Bullet points like I did above:
Will you:
- Feast your eyes…
- Touch with your sensitive fingers…
- Taste with unrestrained pleasure…
- Seize with nary a concern for discomfort...
present your content is nice bite-sized chunks, perfect for sparking the emotions. Make sure to add tactile words as well such as 'sensitive', 'unrestrained', buy my holiday book because you can't wait to see what gloriousness awaits you, and the like.
3.) Big huge fonts and calming blank white space compel love!
The fact is….not everyone can read teeny tiny type! So when you bump up your font size, you're making it easier for your readers to feast their eyes on the goodies that awaits.
And….extra white space makes it more pleasant on the eyes, too.
Here, let me give you an example.
Close your eyes now and imagine the following.
You're sitting at your desk and all of a sudden, you realize…..
Something.
Something compelling.
Something that tugs at your heartstrings.
Something that makes you say…
"Jeepers! I'm so glad I could read the above without crossing my eyes and squinting 39 times!"
My point.
She be made. 🙂
4.) Take your holiday readers by the hand and lead them where you want them to go.
If you're in major sell sell sell mode, sure, it would be peachy if your readers added your feed or subscribed to your newsletter or what have you.
It's even better if they spend their holiday cash with you instead!
So….don't hide your holiday promotions! Make them easier to find than discovering when an elephant has been hiding in your refrigerator (you can see his footprints in the butter, mind you)!
Do you have a compelling holiday sales? If so, make certain they're visible on your site on the *main* page!
Not the sub-page, mind you…your home page.
You know your products are fantastic for your customers, after all….so make it easy for them to discover it. You're doing your readers a favor, after all; if they're in the market for what you have to offer, and they've seen that you walk the walk you talk….they'll want to know all about your goodies (especially if you're running a holiday sale!).
See, I told you…..
Those four tips and ideas are pretty simple, eh?
But knowing them…and doing them…..are two separate thingees indeed. So make these ideas your own….your holiday profits will thank you for it.
Enjoy,
Barbara Ling
