Morning!
It's the week before 2012 starts…and methinks to celebrate, I'm going to create a tutorial for making 2012 the most profitable one imaginable.
Sounds good, aye?
Well then, let's begin with my Tip #5!
Make Money in 2012 by having…. A Plan
Actually, no.
Let's revise that, shall we?
Make Money in 2012 by having…. A Plan *You* Can Actually Do
There now, that's much better! 🙂
Seriously though, the above suggestion makes boatloads of common sense.
How many times have you seen/heard/done/read about/dreamed about ideas that sound great on paper or in computers or skywritten across Hurricane Irene or…..
See what I mean?
I get asked constantly how much a person can realistically expect if they implement a particular plan, ie, affiliate marketing, CPA marketing, becoming an authority figure, etc.etc.etc.
And the answer always the same!
It depends upon….you.
For example, I can easily make money via affiliate marketing.
But give me the keys to the Ferrari with regards to, say, CPA marketing, and I'll be lucky to dimesale that sports car in eBay!
CPA marketing….for me….just doesn't flap my earlobes.
Neither does direct sales or offline marketing.
So the first thing you need to do to make money in 2012 is….have a *viable* business plan.
And here's how.
Step 1.) Take an honest assessment of your skills.
If you embrace the techie side of WordPress with all the joys and excitement a newborn fawn embraces a starving lion, chances are….
You should *not* do anything that requires technical knowledge (unless of course, you have given yourself permission to learn).
Stick to things that involve soft-skills (ie, writing, blogging, becoming an authority and the like).
Step 2.) Take an honest assessment of your money.
If you have the opportunity to buy a business in a box but realize that it would send your back account on a one-way ticket to the Titanic….resist!
Never ever overspend on dreams.
Never.
Instead:
Step 3.) Research your ideas 'til the cows come home.
Make no mistake about it – making money in 2012 is a deadly serious business, and one that deserves huge amounts of research.
Never fling yourself elbow-first into ideas without having done the required research! Remember, an educated consumer is the best consumer imaginable…and as your family might be depending upon your income, being smart…..it works.
When you research ideas, ask yourself:
- Do I have the time available to make it work?
- Do I have the skills necessary to make it work?
- Do I have the tools necessary to make it work?
- Is this something I can do for the long-term?
- Are there definable, tangible steps I can take, or is everything as solid as melted jello?
That last point is key!
So many times, you'll see that gurus leave out critical steps and leave you floundering, unless you have the skills to rescue yourself.
And because I walk the walk I talk, here's what I'm planning for 2012.
I'm going to move from being Barbara Ling.com to building…a community.
Don't quite have all the steps worked out, mind you, but I've embraced the following.
1.) It's okay to be a leader in Internet marketing.
My last few releases have shown me that one can make money in Internet marketing and *still* maintain one's ethics.
Sure, I could probably triple my income by hyping up every single electron I come across, but I really want to be able to look in the mirror and be proud of whom I see looking back.
2.) It's okay to promote daily to my list.
I chalk this issue up to my blogging background where sending out daily newsletters is a Bad Thing!
The money I'm making, however, from researching affiliate products and then promoting the best…show me that it's really very good indeed.
After all, some folks want to know the best tools around when they debut. And others like the daily humor I provide.
So I'm going to cater to that.
3.) It's okay to let things go and to turn on a dime.
For the past 3 months, I've been posting every new WSO that comes up over at www.dailywsos.com .
Thing is, though, bunches of those either don't sell well, or they don't offer high commissions, etc.
So now, I'm changing that to blogging about products that ONLY have one of the following:
- 75-100% affiliate commission
- More than 51 sales
Methinks that will reduce the time I spend on that site (which is very positive indeed!) while increasing my overall income (again, positive wahoo!).
DailyWSOS.com was a fantastic idea indeed…but it has the possibility of eating up all of me time.
Changing my behavior regarding it – makes sense indeed!
I really do like this particular topic, and as the week before 2012 is generally slow slow slow, it just makes sense to focus my thoughts for next year. And by sharing them with you, I hope it gives you ideas for your future bottom line too!
Stay tuned for tomorrow's tip – methinks you'll enjoy it bigtime. 🙂
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
