It’s Day 3 of my Make Money Online Tutorial and for today, I’d like to focus on something that’s beyond critical (but alas, something that hardly anyone ever takes the time to master).
And it’s this.
Google Search.
Now, I’m not talking about the generic:
- Go to Google.
- Type in your search.
- Hit Search
- Look at the results.
Oh no, oh no!
You see, Google allows you to do far far FAR more than simply “search.”
And you can use these abilities to really ramp up your ability to make money online!
Let’s start off with the custom search tags/operators Google gives you.
You can tack onto your searches:
- inurl: this tells Google to look for a keyword/phrase in the site URL. For example, let’s say that you want to find all the pages that have “forums.php” in their URL.
does that for you grand!
- intitle: this tells Google to return pages that have a particular keyword in the title tag. For example, let’s say that you want to find all the pages that have “affiliates” and “sign” in the title:
intitle:affiliates intitle:sign
is what you’d use. You could then tack on another keyword to find specific affiliate programs in specific niches too!
- site: this tells Google to limit your results to a specific domain or site. It’s very useful if you want to zero in on specific information! For example, let’s say that you want to find the affiliate programs for Match.com. Searching on
works admirably.
- filetype: this tells Google to return results only of a specific filetype, like “pdf” or “xls” or “txt” etc. For example, let’s say that you want to find PDFs on affiliate marketing. Searching for:
filetype:pdf “affiliate marketing”
is something that would definitely help.
Now, why is all of this important for you to make money online?
Because knowing how to find critical information asap….it rocks!
