Good morning!
Do you realize…
More than half of 2011 has passed?
Let me now ask you….
What do you have to show for it?
Hmmm?
If you're like many folks, chances are….the response:
"Not much!"
is probably your answer.
Aye?
Confess, I can see you nodding your head! 🙂
But here's the good news….
It's never too late to take ownership of your failure, glean successful truths from it, and turn it around.
True, it certainly can be difficult!!
Failure, after all, *is* comforting, right?
I mean, when you fail, you basically can tell yourself,
"Jeepers! I gave it my best shot but oh well, the world was against me!"
Yep. I can really relate to that – it's human nature to want to excuse one's non-successes.
But let me be the first to tell you….
You're really short-changing yourself if you succumb to those horribly mangling thoughts.
Remember, when it comes right down to it…
The only person you can count on (ideally besides your family)….is you.
- Not your best friends.
- Not your mentors.
- Not your colleagues.
You.
When push comes to shove, and you are desperately in need of help, you never know if your friends' phone has blown up or your colleagues can't get online or if Facebook goes down or what have you.
- You can count *solely* and *only* on yourself.
You.
So let's now revisit your 2011 for your business?
Is it everything for which you've been hoping?
Or is it dismal beyond belief?
If it's the second, here's what I want you to do right now.
Give yourself time to grieve…and then look into the mirror and tell yourself, "*I* will take ownership and create *my* success."
Nobody else.
You.
Stop excusing your lack of success by blaming others or a lack of time or what have you.
Be brave and examine the past 7 months.
- What have you learned stops you in your tracks?
Commit to yourself never to do those things again.
- What have you learned helps you succeed?
Give yourself permission to continue with them!
In closing, the world couldn't care less if you succeed or fail.
You, however, and the people who are counting on you….do.
Honor that.
And start creating your success today.
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
