Listen and learn!
This weekend Ben Adkins and company (Don Wilson, Brad Spencer Tanner Larsson Alisha Goldschmidt Michelle Spiva Bryan Zimmerman etc.) are at #FearlessLive in Memphis, TN. By now, I’m certain by now they’re masterminding in the hotel gym, after all…. it’s 4:17am.
Anywhos! They’re staying at the Peabody Hotel, famous for the March of the Ducks!
Their history is fascinating – the Duck March started back in 1940. A Bellman who used to be a former circus trainer *taught* those duckies to march into the hotel lobby (to the tune of the King Cotton March by John Philip Sousa, no less).
Now, the ducks had been happily bathing in the fountain for years prior! It took someone with the skills to both *see more* and *do more* to turn those ducks into celebrities… and make the Duck March something even tourists flock to see.
www.peabodymemphis.com/peabody-ducks/ is their webpage, and more goodies are at

Think about this now for a moment, aye?
How can you apply this to your business?
We all have the our own unique skills we bring to the table. For example, back in my Bell Labs days, I couldn’t hack it as a real programmer (ie, C++, C, etc.) but was workhorse dependable with ksh scripting…. and in 2004 after I broke the Google Code, I used my ksh scripts to build 100s of portal sites and bring in 250K.
No other marketer to my knowledge did this. I gave myself permission to *try*.
What do YOU know that’s perhaps really unique in YOUR field?
Whatever it is, ask yourself.
How can I apply it to stand out from my competitors… and shine?
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
