3 Scary Reasons Why Fashionable Zombies Are Infesting Your eMail Marketing (and how to fix that today!)

Morning! (And if you like the comic, get you to Nickyitis – grand stuff indeed!)

So.

It could be a needle pulling thread but in THIS case…..

Picture the following.

You are boldly and bravely tackling your email marketing when all of a sudden you realize….

You’d have enjoyed far more success if you had chosen to direct your energies to determining how many licks there really IS until the center of a Tootsie Roll pop.

Yep, I hear you.

And I know exactly why you’re enjoying this thrilling new opportunity for increased grey hairs at no extra cost!

It’s because your outgoing email is being infested by fashionable zombies.

It surely is.  You are being plagued by fashionable zombies (ie, blindly following what others do without stamping your own brand of uniqueness on your activities).

Luckily, we here at Ling Industries have THE cure for you!    So sit down (then again, you probably already ARE sitting down unless you’re reading this on your mobile device while single-handedly fending off the seductive whispers of Instagramming your last meal thru a 1970s vintage filter), lean back, cross your hands behind your head and get ready for:

Reason #1.)   Your emails are tasteless duplicates of the 291 other lazy marketers online who never modify swipe files.

Swipe files are meant to give you a starting point!  Why the heck should people open YOUR emails if they’ve already seen the same blorgytoed title 291 times before?

Fix:  Infuse your personality in your email!  Train your list to recognize the quality you offer and the insights you  provide…and compel them to OPEN and RESPOND to your messages.  If you start to get feedback like:

“I have been receiving your emails for some time now and I am always amazed at how engaging, interesting and chirpy you are in your emails. Somehow you managed to get me reading ALL your emails in my overloaded inbox.  And in the process, I bought things you recommended.

I want to learn how to do that and there is no one else out there whose email I read every day.  So for me, you are the best.  That’s why I want to be part of EMM – to learn from the best.”

 You know you’re doing something right.

Reason #2.)   You free-fall off the radar screen faster than a 16 ton blueberry muffin with nuts so that when you finally DO send out email, people react to your email with the same enthusiasm as fossilized clams pounce on star destroyers.

We live in a VERY fast-paced environment – if you’re not engaging your readers nor letting them know you actually exist in this galaxy, they’re going to forget you bigtime.

Fix:  Get a schedule!  Promote to your list once a week, every Monday and Thursday, once a day, 5 times a day…whatever works best for *you*.  Make it a habit!

When you get feedback like:

“I enjoy reading your messages, and have begun to look at them to see if you are offering particular WSOs that I am interested in.  I have often heard/read that readers do not want to receive so many messages and I would like to learn how/why the opposite can be true. 

I believe you to be a good and honest email marketing guide who is doing what you are teaching and who will continue to provide updated education and inspiration.  I also believe your monthly earnings will continue to grow month by month and that you will share how you are making that happen.”

You know you’re doing something right.

Reason #3.)   You care more about bronzing dried toenail fungus than your readers…*and it shows*.

Ever get those emails from marketers that are SOLELY pitchpitchpitch….that are followed by pitchpitchpitch?  And then closed by pitchpitch pitch?

Can you say, 3 strikes and you’re out!?

Fix:  Recognize that while your readers are lucky to be on your list….YOU are lucky as well to HAVE them on your life!

  • *Talk* (write?) to your readers.
  • Show them your humanity.
  • Ask them about their day.
  • Engage them!

When you get feedback like:

“There are several reasons I would like to be a part of EMM, but my main focus is to streamline my business process so that the transition from selling a product to gaining subscribers from that product to having a successful backend email marketing campaign is seamless.

I’ve been a member of your list for quite a while and I can see the value in the emails you send, and I can tell that you have built a successful email marketing business.

In that regard I believe you would be the best person to learn from in regards to having a successful email strategy.”

You know you’re doing something right.

There are other things you can do but the three suggestions above…rock!
