Life happens.
I posted the following on FB:
If you can’t get to Vegas, you bring Vegas to you!
Just got hit by a wave of nostalgia. I remember my first E1KaDay event where I spoke – the morning that I was to depart is when my not-then-fused ankle collapsed. Had surgery 2 months later.
Thing is, I’m seeing all of these walkaround pix from Vegas. And I’m remembering *doing* that ‘way back when. I’d love to say I’m now awash in a sea of self-pity (oh no! Can’t do that ever again!) but that’s not what’s making me pensive me now.
I think I’ve reach the point in my life when I can look back or watch others enjoying things I will never be able to do again and say, you know something? Back then that was *wonderful* and I was blessed to have the experience!
And nowadays, no jealousy whatsoever at what others can do – it’s a pleasure to witness 3rd hand their fun and excitement and simply be happy for them.
So all you in Vegas – hit the gym for me, bend a straw into a mini-cane and raise it over your head to ensure you’re raising cane for me while I’m back here in NJ.
Neat. 🙂
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
