Morning!
Ever buy one or 9284 different WSO products?
Ever then realize….
You freakin' need to do SOMETHING! with them?
I know I sure have!
And it's gotten to the point that actually scheduling out and managing my time is reaaaally making a huge amount of sense.
I'm manfully making my way thru this morass of fun and excitement, and figured that perhaps, you'd enjoy what I've uncovered as well!
So here goes. To manage your IM business….
Do THIS.
Step 1 – Make a list of your future goals
And I don't mean, "make a list you then set your coffeecup upon!."
No, I mean, make a list to which you can refer again and again.
Me, I have my list in MS Outlook. It's really not the best solution; I'm currently investigating what might work better (ie, MS Project?).
But no matter what…
- Spell.
- It.
- Out.
Making it concrete really does help.
Next:
Step 2 – Make a list of what's required for future goals
Each goal you have can be broken down into requirements.
For example, let's say that you want to build a big list.
You need to:
- Create sales funnels
- Create free funnels
- Participate on forums with your signature intact
- Network with colleagues on FB
- etc.etc.etc.
List out every single requirement on which you need to follow up!
Step 3 – Schedule out what's required to meet those future goals
Everything you've considered above….it requires *time*.
Your *time*.
And to best accomplish that…your *time* must be *scheduled*.
ie,
Every morning from 5 to 5:30am, scan your niche forums and respond to 2 or 9282 posts. Keep your name visible!
Or, perhaps every day from 9 to 10am, work on your *own* products. Not anyone elses…..*yours*.
Your day has at least 12 hours in it (if you're a solopreneur and work weird times). Use those times *wisely* – don't florbilate all over the place without direction.
Schedule. Plan. And DO!
And to help you DO that,
Step 4 – Use a Daily Planner to zero keep track of your daily progress
Here's where I'm thrashing – I have my online daily planner, but it's just not meeting my needs.
But! Being able to scan a calendar and realize, okay! Today I need to get my affiliates lined up for my 2/25 release, my BIMs created for that early March release of my colleagues product, etc.etc.etc…..
It really does serve to clarify life a weeee bit.
Clarity – it's a Good Thing.
A needed thing.
And something your future business will thank you for.
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
