I learned this particular truth back in 1983 (wow, 26 years ago!) in my college math class. I had asked one of my professors why she never gave up on me, and she responded:
"….because I believe in you."
The lesson has stayed with me to this day…and it’s something I constantly reinforce in my kids as well.
