So you have expert knowledge…but you want to charge for your content. Good for you!
But….how do you do this? Hmmm?
You'll love how it's accomplished! What smart entrepreneurs are doing is using WordPress to set up their site, and then separate their posts into a FREE category.and into a PREMIUM (ie, paid) category as well.
Some people use:

Wishlist Member WordPress Membership Plugin
This is a paid plugin but does offer Clickbank integration as well! Some key points include:
Sequential Content Delivery
Depending on your setup, you may want to graduate your members from one level to the next. For example, members start at "Module 1? and after 30 days they are automatically upgraded to "Module 2?. That's what the Sequential Content Delivery system is for.
Unlimited Membership Level
Your membership site can have as many "levels" as you want. So if you want "Silver", "Gold" and "Platinum", you can! Now you can charge more for a higher level of access – all within the same blog.
Secure RSS Feeds
Secure RSS feeds allow your members to view their membership material in their favorite RSS reader. But, it also gives you complete control – non-members can't access the feed and if a person stops paying, their feed automatically stops working.
I like the secure RSS feeds feature!
Cost ranges from $97 to $297.
Some sites that use the Wishlist membership plugin include:
- CBI Clubhouse
- Instant Business Answers
- The Blazing BBQ
- Your MMA Coach
- Girl Mogul
- Painless Penny Pinching

I find the Gradual Content aspect to be rather intriguing:
"MW Gradual Content Delivery wordpress plugin allows you to gradually release content (articles) to your visitors and members, depending on how long reader been a member with your blog. The longer user been a member – the more premium content he will see compare to the guy that just joined.
With MW Gradual Content you can preload your membership site with an excellent content but your visitors will be exposed to it gradually on a predefined schedule. This process is automatic, once you uploaded the articles and specified maturity for articles.
You are able to specify maturity per article which gives you fine grain control over your content."
This part really caught my eye:
Gradual content delivery, also known as content dripping (as well as bleeding of content) elevates your online membership site business to a next level.
-
Protects you from content leechers – people who subscribe, steal all your content and then unsubscribe (even requesting a refund).
- …
That certainly is a tremendous benefit!
Here's an example of a blog using it:
The thing for me is, I want to make my membership site available to my affiliates to promote as well. So I have to learnmore if that is currently an option with this product.
Other sites that use MemberWing include:
- Speedy Bass Club (wordpress membership site)
- Stone Mills Estates Homeowner Association (wordpress membership site)
- Online Dating Secrets (wordpress membership site)
- Web Briefcase (wordpress membership site)
- Street Magic Club (wordpress membership site)

Other WordPress membership plugins you can learn more include:
- s2Member – Free Plugin
- SUMA – WordPress Subscription Management and Billing Plugin
- Your Members WordPress Membership plugin
- WP Membership
Now, while the above sounds mighty spiffy and neato-cool to me, here's my current challenge. I want to include not only premium WordPress content, but also integrate my membership with my forums/commmunity site as well (ie, paid members get access to private forums).
I already am familar with the membership software aMember – I run my Recruiter membership and my Job Seekers Power Advantage membership off of it. And from what I hear, that has bridges to both WordPress and vBulletin.but methinks one needs to be a weee bit technically adept to use it.
DLGuard – now that has truly superb support and an excellent download management system as well!
So….if you're thinking about generating monthly, residual income…perhaps the above is the way to go. What do you think?
Enjoy,
Barbara Ling
