Morning all!
Today is Christmas so to heck with writing my usual magnificently insightful "Here's How You Achieve Miracles With Only Duct Tape, A Paperclip and a Red-ribbon Enhanced Macgyver!"
No, instead, I'm soooo filled with holiday cheer that I want instead to embrace everyone who visits this site and say:
Life…it's grand….Wooooooooooot!!!!
Where to start? Lessee! Well, I got up about 30 minutes earlier and started baking chocolate chip cookies – the theory is by the time the family awakens, the whole house will be redolent of cookie dough goodness. Yum!
And I made certain to pack the stockings with a tremendous amount of goodies (So blessed are the dollar stores!).
And the gifts, oh…the gifts!
To be honest with you….with the exception of something I'll update here AFTER I give them out (don't want to spoil the surprise if the kids read me blog!) they're pretty mediocre – I've already given the most-craved thingees out (Wizard 101 gems, a private domain for another child, etc.etc.etc.).
UPDATE! Here they are! Remember the husband craft project on which I was working? It started off as:

and was re-imagined as:

But that's not all – I also made Molly Muffin:

and

and also a Japan Hetalia sprite…which I need to take another picture of.
To give you an idea of the sizes, the husband project was 6,724 beads and almost 3×3 squares – the kids project each took 1 square.
They were received wondrously! Woot!
And you know? I think the most exciting and enjoyable aspects of today is simply spending it with my family!
If there's one thing we're always doing, it's laughing with one another and making each other feel pretty grand (unless, of course, there's tons of angsting emoness or traumatic "he breathed at the same time I did" challenges…)!
So right now with cookies in the oven and coffee perking in the kitchen and Mannheim Steamroller on the CD player….I'm pretty much set right now!
Which brings me to…..you!
I am so grateful to the readers of my site, and the folks with whom I network…I really do appreciate all of the time you've spent coming by and saying Hi!
I think 2011 will be filled with big huge bunches of goodness, not just for me, mind you, but all whom our community touches.
And that simply rocks beyond time!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays all!
Grow strong,
Barbara Ling
