Chances are, if you’ve done any sort of video marketing, creation, or editing, you can imagine just how frustrating the above can be.
But! Once you *have* mastered the Incredible Lightness of Making Sweeet Videos that enhance your bottom line… you’ll discover your income hitches a ride on Superman’s cape (aka goes in the UP direction) instead of donning on neon-blue lead socks (aka traveling in the DOWN direction).

and in a nutshell:
“The tool uses machine learning to take relevant moments from longer videos and automatically convert them into the shorter ad units.”
In other words, this Bumper Machine takes < 90 second videos and extracts 6 second “bumper ads” (Vine anyone?).
Interestingly enough, “bumper ads” were first introduced on YouTube back in 2016. Almost a lifetime ago, if you measure it in Internet years.
Such a topic could lend itself to a digital product cheatsheet as well. You could break it down into:

It could occur when you’re earlobe-deep into saving the world, one Infinity Gauntlet at a time…
… or when you’re introducing your latest dragon buddy to the truly incomprehensible delights of the Vegan lifestyle!
Wait, hang on, back up there a few sentences above…
It could ONLY happen to you if you’re on a magical mystery tour of battling the GDN (coming to an IMAX 3D theater close by you!).
Now, the GDN, as you probably remember from your childhood faerie tales, is a magical, mystical place known to the rest of us mortals as the Google Display Network. To wit:
“…it’s a group of more than 2 million websites, videos, and apps where your ads can appear.
Display Network sites reach over 90% of Internet users worldwide*. With the Display Network, you can use targeting to show your ads in particular contexts (like “outdoor lifestyles” or “cnn.com”), to particular audiences (like “young moms” or “people shopping for a new sedan”), in particular locations, and more.”
Seeing your ads dominate said 90% of Internet users world-wide would certainly be a Legend for this generation, wouldn’t you agree? Thing is, though…
Are the CTRs you’re seeing…. REALLY the tried and true honest case?
Chances are… probably not.
Why?
Why, because of those meddling kids, of course! In other words, this article:

claims that 60% of parents use their phones and tablets to occupy their kids while they handle errands, housework, and other tasks. So while the moms and dads might be your perfect target audience, your impressions may be going to babies and toddlers. Same goes for clicks.
Delightful, aye? Heck no! If its kids going clickity click click click on your addity ad ad ads… you’re basically soaking your hard-earned dollars into gallons of week old decaf coffee and watching them swirl down the deep, dank drain of despair.
And kudos to whomever did write that article – I especially like the following snark:
“…Google’s ability to analyze a page and determine its theme is pretty impressive, but it doesn’t always get it right. In fact, sometimes it gets downright awkward by matching certain ads and certain content. Don’t be forever cemented in the internet hall of shame as the company that ran an alcohol ad next to an article about drunk drivers.
Unless you’re not my client.
I always love a good ad placement fail.”
Reminds me of several individuals in the Internet marketing industry.
But I digress.

And by the time you’re reading this, I’ll probably be in the air, on my way to visit my 2 eldest on the West Coast.
I’m SO looking forward to this trip!
Last year around this time, I had to return home a week early because I neglected to bring my pain meds and other thingees… can hardly believe that more than a year has passed.
My youngest will be at home taking care of the pets and the husband as well. Me? Introvert that I am, with the exception of the times that I see my kids, I’ll be holed up in my hotel room with sparkling water and my munchies… and templatizing my work, both for my launches and DennisAndBarb goodies.
