There’s only 57 days left until 2017, do you realize that?
All together now, wheeee!
Visited the surgeon yesterday – I’m healing on schedule but yep – the incisions on my hips are still rather swollen. Good news is I’ve been cleared for gym starting next week (yay!) and bad news is… I’m not yet cleared for gym (wah!).
Elsewhere in Lingland, did you realize that parenting is not only a hero’s journey… but so is growing up?
My youngest is dealing bunches with that. Raising him is like raising myself … so many of my struggles, I see within him as well. But I survived and he will too!
Today, it’s time for a romantic date. Yes, a real live date with the husband – we’ll be going out for Vietnamese lunch and then hit Walmart for their sparkling water (only 67 cents and they taste great!).
Never let it be said the husband and I aren’t the soul of romance. 🙂

There’s only 58 days left until 2017, do you realize that?
My gosh, where to start.
Well! Yesterday I put myself on bedrest to work on my laptop (massive ankle smooshing).
That was my goal, mind you.
Got a text from my youngest, however – he had presented a school curriculum change to the assistant superintendent (a huge win by itself) BUT because he wasn’t refused to talk later at the Board of Education meeting… he felt he had totally failed.
So, got into the car, drove to the school, and gave him a 10 minute pep talk during lunch (my youngest learns differently than most kids and has a hard time seeing the forest because he focuses on trees). Refused to let him run away from the issue, sent him back, and and watched him gather himself up together to face things once more.
HUGELY tiring that was. A great thing to see accomplished, mind you, but HUGELY tiring.
Woke up at 3am today and tried to go back to sleep but you know something?
I don’t think I can change my sleeping hours… I’m wired to wake up at 3am these days so might as well embrace it.

Massive smooshies for me today.
Went on bedrest yesterday and had rather little sleep and….
Been up since 2:30am and yep….
After the kids go to school, I’m going very quiet-like.
These things happen.
In other news, I was unfriended by someone I respect due to my opinions on FB.
Very sad, that…. I don’t think I have ever unfriended anyone due to their beliefs.
I’ve chosen NOT to promote them, mind you…
… or engage/interact….
But have yet to unfriend.
And! Today my youngest will be presenting a proposal to the assistant principal regarding school curriculum….
So proud of the kid. Its been a very long journey indeed… we’ll see what happens!

In a word, eek!
You know my PLR ideas? They all stemmed from ensuring my kids would have a viable business to take over……
… but what IF my kids had zero desire to do that?
To wit:
“…I just had a rather scary… yet intriguing thought.
For folks who work corporate jobs… they do not pass their job to their kids.
For folks who are solopreneurs or work at home folk…. they CAN pass their jobs to their kids, especially if you make it as automated as possible.
Thing is, though…
… even if you DO make it that easy….
Who is to say they will still want to keep it running?
I mean seriously…. marketing *is* both an art and a science.
And unless your kids show interest while you’re alive in learning the magic….
… chances are, once you’re dead, they won’t be seized with an insane desire to do it then.
So why did this thought occur to me?
Well, about 1.5 months ago, I started up a brand new list.
The only folk who go on it is buyers from my future/future products.
And it’s tied to my Virtual Coach Self Confidence and PLR and Marketing site, not my Barb Ling site.
My goals, back then, was to make Virtual Coach my exit strategy.
Methinks I’ve veered a wee bit away from that.
And with 2017 coming up, I have YAOTVB (points to those who figure out what that means).
So…. must thunk mightily.
Stay tuned……..”
And that is really doing a number on me.
But like everything…
… I’m sure something will come out of it grand!
