It’s really tough when you have to be the parent, instead of what they want, which is the friend who agrees with everything.
But hey, parenting (and growing up!) is a hero’s journey indeed.

Thing is….
Taking ownership.
I was contacted by a customer of one of my past products.
And as you might know, if you’ve been on my list for more than 37 seconds, I tend to offer a number of complementary upsells/enhancements.
NOTE! My main products can always stand alone.
They are complete!
The upsells are for newbies who don’t know how to flatten their learning curve (ie, I provide bunches of done for you work).
Well, like I said, I was contacted by a fine gentleman who spend (I would think?) hours crafting up an email that listed out his complaints (which basically boiled down to, you offered upsells and I bought them).
All I will say is the hours spent crafting that email could have been spent, oh, gee, I don’t know….
Putting the main product he bought into action!
This.is.maddening.to.me
and this is why SO many people fail in IM.
Not only do they refuse to take action…
… but the action they DO take… often centers on complaining about the marketing of a product…
… and not the product itself.
Now for me, unfortunately, I chose to give rent-free space in my mind about this.
Which kept me up to 11pm.
Which also saw me mowing my way thru cashew nuts.
Which, as I’m trying to lose weight, was pretty ridiculous.
Now, I’m not blaming the person for my reactions.
I own ALL of my reactions.
Just like the fine gentleman owns the fact he apparently did not implement anything in the main product.
Your takeaway?
Money will never be made *for* you.
YOU own your actions.
And if you choose not to implement what you buy, that’s fine! Seriously, it really is. Nobody can make anyone ready to take that first step.
BUT…. take ownership of THAT lack of action as well.
I do not want anyone on my list (I really don’t) who refuses to take ownership of their actions.
It is an honor for me to have you, dear reader, on my list….
AND it’s an honor for you to BE on my list.
It’s a 2 way street.
Anywhos….
So yep. Woke up at 2am. Realized I really need to sleep more, but if I do, I’ll probably sleep past my normal send-out-newsetter-at-6am time…
So I got myself up to write it, and queue it, and then go back to sleep.
