Where was I?
Ah yes, Friday!
Enough already.
Massive arm falling off time…. which made me write:
“Just sent the following to all 4 of my kids.
Your takeaway as a parent and entrepreneur? Fear is ok.
Letting your kids know what’s going on is ok.
Passing on life lessons is beyond ok.
Every.single.time life kicks you in the teeth, use that energy to:
1.) Make the world a better place (aka life lesson)
2.) Make money
Carry on.

So! Kids, I have lots of grand life lessons for you.
1.) Always listen to your parents. Even when we’re idjuts.
2.) See step 1.
But besides that….
If you ever encounter health issues, and you get scared because of them, that is okay.
And if you ever need to increase pain meds or anti-anything meds, that’s okay too.
I know I’ve said I’m done with being a hero, but now I’m more done than before.
I moved up my pain managlement doc visit to tomorrrow (its scheduled for next Friday).
At the TT doc, things were grand, arm vaguely annoying…
… and then at lunch at Nakiyama with the biggles, arm proceeded to fall off.
Which of course led me to worrying about the future (I have a meeting with the surgeon doc on 8/21/17 – he’s the one who hacked off my last few batches of exostoses). Do I surgerize?
Do I see if I can keep it in control with just pain meds?
etc.etc.etc.
So instead of pushing away the fear and ignoring it, I embraced it, worked thru it, and I’m back at my job now.
Your takeaway (besides always listening to your parents) is this:
==> Fear is okay.
Even if you end up proving to yourself that you’re only human and not superPerson and have to face the fact life could be ‘way better….
Life could also be ‘way worse.
So if you’re massively smooshed emotionally….
… treat yourself gently, be really good to yourself, let your parents and siblings know you’re doing poorly (and tell us how you’d like us to respond, aka validation, ice cream run, hugs, etc.), and remember:
This too shall pass.
Love you all.”
