Before everything else, I need you to sit down and embrace….
THIS!
That picture is a bona-fide image direct from Heaven, and included a chorus of sweetly-sounding angels singing their praise in the background.
In other words, I actually had REAL coffee for the very first time in my life!
It was sublime.
It brought to mind a comforting warmth from the bosom of a loving civilization…..
… as noted by my kid’s reaction:
“See Mom discovering gourmet coffee for the very first time!”
Now, yes, that is my kid.
And you might notice he is half Asian and half Caucasian.
As are all of my kids.
And this then happened.
“…It doesn’t happen often but this was the first time it happened when HS1 was with us.
At breakfast today, there were 3 large Caucasian men who sat at another table. When they went to pay the bill, I saw them look first at my Asian husband, then at me, then at our kid.
Instant MamaBear mode was silently engaged. Normally, it’s elderly couples who look at my husband and me as, how cute!, but this time, there was no approval in the once-over those guys gave us.
My husband was oblivious to it, and my son didn’t catch it at all.
Very weird to experience. But nobody messes with my family….”
Very sad that some people refuse to see the humanity of others. 🙁
But! The early college interview!
It went amazing!
This is basically a college for high school sophomores/juniors to start college early (hence, “early college”). The entire student population appears to be those types of brilliant kids who never fit in with their peers during school.
So we will see if kid gets a scholarship. Here’s hoping!
Then we drove off to visit my eldest over at her college, and at around 5am, here I was!
THE HOTEL STAFF KNOWS ME!
An hour later, I *might* have had a cup of coffee or two….
