Where was I?

Ah yes, Monday morning!  Here’s what happened…

A week ago, Honorable Son II pleaded his case to rescue 2 guinea pigs (forthwith referred to as, of course, piggyMooses). I had him research care/feeding plus write down all the bullet points of benefits (not features!)… and last Wednesday we rescued 2 piggyMooses (and received a good size cage/foodies,etc.) – a black longhaired PM and a white/black shorthaired PM.

Zoom up to Saturday while I was in Maryland, picking up Honorable Daughter II. HS2 asked to spend $90 of his earned money to buy a larger cage, and instead, I told him to research how to create a DIY cage.

This idea was met with, ahem, not joyness and happiness.

But, long story short… he did …. and Honorable Husband took him to Bed Bath and Beyond to get grids…. and end result?

Super useful roomy cage he built himself. It took him over 5 hours.

In other words – I gave him the opportunity to make a HUGE “win” in his life. Guaranteed, he will *never* forget the pride he felt when he completed his construction and the piggyMooses scampered about.

Here’s why this is so massive. It’s easy enough to buy a ready-made solution…. it requires courage to step outside your comfort zone and make things happen instead. And one of the best things you can give your kids as they grow….

Are simple wins.

They last a lifetime.
