Where was I?
Ah yes, Monday!
You might notice this morning newsletter is a bit….
Late.
However, it IS out…
And that’s a good thing, given the amount of sheer character-buildingness I went through yesterday.
Totally shattered and just now, pulling myself together.
In a nutshell, really difficult day. Lots of serious painful talks with the husband that was all good, mind you, because communications were excellent, but it involved being super honest and both of us admitting our flaws, where we could do better and the like.
Not to make much of a big deal about it, but wow – I can now totally appreciate why some people simply just want to give up and end it all sometimes. Didn’t get to that point myself, but I sure saw how people get there. Looking into the abyss is NOT FUN….
…. but possibly necessary to move forward.
Today is another day, I woke up late, and yesterday is just now a memory.
One I wont forget, mind you, because it’s one that taught me bunches which I suppose I’m meant to use in the future.
Took the family out as well (yay!) and then yesterday…..
Just spent the entire afternoon taking care of myself. Well, no, not true, I did do some work for the next Dennis and Barb launch (this Friday!):

Ah yes, Sunday!
Well, now I can reveal it.
On Friday, the husband and I took Honorable Son 1 up to Vermont to meet up with his soon to be college colleagues.
And you know those storms that hit the east coast?
We drove thru them!
Total sheer utter insanity.
But, we managed to get to Brattleboro where this was a dinner:
It was a lobbyster puff!
So good.
Got up at 3am yesterday and started work in the hotel lobby….. we left around 10am, and got home after 3pm.
Wheeeeeee.

Ah yes, Friday!
Character-building, thy name is Ling.
At least for me.
I wrote:

Alas, my connectivity for FB Live just ‘taint there, so a mere written post will have to suffice.
Yesterday had some extremely good times (paid things forward so yay!) but there was one rather extremely difficult situation I had to deal with.
And I counted on someone for support… whom I discovered this morning… chooses to give zero.
I will admit… that was utterly devastating to wake up to.
However, I choose to own my own pain… because I was idjut enough to have zero self-defenses erected.
I know lots of people like framing things as “XYZ’s actions hurt me!” but one thing that stands out to me…
… XYZ’s actions can only hurt you if you choose to give them power over you.
Which I refuse to do.
So what is your takeaway? Should you refuse to be there for people? Should you become an island?
Of course not.
Life is meant to be embraced and experienced and if you choose to withhold yourself, you really do miss out on some superb life adventures.
That being said…
… Always be wise with whom you choose to have zero defenses about.
And if by chance you chose poorly like I did….
… that’s *okay*.
It’s okay to have been vulnerable.
But perhaps in the future, make sure you’re a bit smarter with whom you choose to share your issues! 🙂
Honor yourself for how you might have gone out of your way in the past…
… and then just plain *let* *it* *go*.
Life is too short to angst.
In closing, treat others how you would like to be treated yourself…
…. but don’t waste yourself with people who simply *take*.
