In other news, I’ve been helping out several folk now on the quiet.
And I wrote up how I did it:
“Have you ever wanted to comfort someone who, for whatever reason, didn’t want it?
Perhaps they aren’t ready to face their own scenario, or they’re hurting too much, or they have too much pride, or one of the bazillion other reasons folks will give when all seems lost.
If you ever find yourself in the position of wanting to help but didn’t know how to go about it, here’s a suggestion for Facebook:
Post pictures/videos of something that will resonate with the individual in question.
Chances are, said individual will see it *and* appreciate it (even if no mention is ever made of it in the future).
Some people have too much pride and refuse to be seen as weak (luckily, I myself am NOT that person whatsoever. 
)
Other people simply cannot wrap their mind over what the “present” really is and cannot fathom acknowledging this fact or the future.
Still others choose to bear their pain/grief/whatever in solitude.
Whatever.
By posting something that will raise their spirits even the slightest bit, you will have reached out in a way that is 140% non-threatening….
… and who knows.
Perhaps in the future, the person in question might be finally willing to share whatever burdens they were/are under.
In any event… giving the gift of laughter, smiles and hope for the future….
… it’s a very good thing indeed.

Over the past few days, I was helping out another person who told me he was jealous of other people’s successes in some things… because he didn’t any of that himself.
I can totally relate.

Folks, we all have ways of running our business that works for *us*.
Some people adore cold calling. I love cold calling as much as I swoon over a do-it-yourself home toe removal kit (the ultimate solution to hangnails!).
So, what might work for one person might leave another person *cold*.
Some people thrill to the art of offline CPA!
With my fused ankle, I thrill to the art of hobbling 2 rooms over to get to my desktop computer.
So gnope, that wouldn’t work for me either.
Some people create epic poetry about email marketing.
Now THAT… that is where I shine. And it’s where I make a good slice of my income as well.
BUT… I can respect that others view that as lower-level income building.
Okay I’m lying. I actually *don’t* respect that concept. I reject it 140%.
But just because *I* reject that view…
… doesn’t make that view *wrong*.

Looks like its going to be another delightful night so I figure… get the newsletter out!
Thing is:
Cashews.
Have you ever seen the big mixed nut jars they have at Costco?
The husband bought one…
And I have been mowing my way thru them ever since.
Not exactly the best foods, I will admit.
Still though, yesterday (today) was good – got to the gym, yay!
Oh! And in a parenting group that I am part of, one parent shared how his kid was bullied on the school bus.
Bunches of other parents (yours truly included) responded, tell the school officials, teach your kid to hit back if pushed, etc.etc.etc.
The parent was worried about the bullies getting into trouble…
… to which I responded:
“…I totally agree with the person above. You mention “kids can just do stupid things not necessarily out of malice or cruelty”…
Well, when kids see the recipient of their actions are *crying*, it’s pretty freakin’ obvious it IS done out of both malice AND cruelty. Are the kids in question thinking, “Oh wow he/she is crying, they must love the bullying attention I’m giving him/her! Let’s do more!”
I don’t think so.
The victims are the main kids to protect first, last and in between. There is *zero excuse* for trying to explain away any bullying behavior (I know you’re trying to be fair and non-judgmental).
Very glad the board responded to you! Much good wishes that the bullies are made an example of and your child can attend school without fear again (which honestly is the right of every child)….”
I am personally insane about bullying…. and back when my kids were in school, I’d tell them that if they got suspended for fighting back, I would reward them.

Hacking!
Oh the husband had SUCH a fun time hacking up a $5 laptop holder he bought last Sunday. It goes for more than $20 (but I got the price down to $5)
And he took it apart and it now holds BOTH his phone AND his laptop!
The above is the phone, and here’s the laptop holder:
(parts used, you can’t see – but they attach said holder to his desk).
So nifty!
I also got to swimming yesterday and exercise….
But by the end of the day, the ankle went on massive rebellion.
Ah well.
Today will be nice quiet day….
