Decent day yesterday. I did have an interesting convo regarding ‘being right’:

Ever get an insane desire to convert folks who do not share your own most-cherished beliefs?
I mean, after all, you *know* your ideas are right!
And it’s your duty to the galaxies far, wide, above and more to let others know quite how dumb they are for not *yet* seeing the light you are so graciously offering to provide.
Right?
And after *finally* internalizing the wisdom you possess, your audience is virtually guaranteed to prostrate themselves before your magnificence, thanking you in earnest for all the dazzling truths you have shared!
‘course, there MIGHT be one teeny tiny itsy bitsy squidgem widgem problem with all of the above….
You try converting people with all of the style and grace…
… of a rabid aquatic moose who bumped face-first into the only drunk porcupine in the forest during quill-shedding-season…
… thus limiting your conversational ability to something slightly only barely above “Hulk SMASH!”
Uh huh.
Not wise.
See, true, you might actually *be* right.

And when you make people feel stupid, you’ve basically drop-kicked your face into the goalposts of life.

One things I’ve learned….
Sometimes, you *really* *really* *really* need to let people find their way in their own time.
Why?
Because if you show the answer when they’re not intellectually/emotionally/etc ready to accept it, it will go in one ear, out the other, and scamper down the highway, laughing hysterically at your extremely ineffective attempts at communication.
But…. I suppose that is a bit of what life REALLY is. Some things, you cannot teach.
You have to let them learn from the inside.
I still do have the Dr. Strange Listen on Repeat going on in the background. Another grand soundtrack you might enjoy is:

It’s Saturday!
Actually, gnope, its still Friday. Around 9:40pm actually.
I’m writing this to you while on bedrest, on my laptop, and listening on repeat to:

Besides being a wonderful romp in the metaphysical, plus awesome design effects….
The music is *astounding*. And luckily for me, my fav selection is used in this particular clip…. so its nice to have it on repeat in the background. 🙂
Yesterday was a mass of really good goodies… and really exhausting exhausties.
The goodies were the launch from Dennis and me – its our update to our last year’s bestseller of 100K/year. More on that below.
The exhausties stemmed from *finally* (finally!) it seems like there’s been a slight breakthru with one of my kids.
Now, true, it is truly exhausting to be everything to everyone (note to Barb – stop that) but….
Yesterday I asked one kid to come back with me, after I had forgotten one of my phones at a location far far away.
And during that talk, it seems like lots finally came together.
You know how you cannot put an old head on a young body, and how sometimes kids simply have to try things themselves before realizing that *maybe* you have good ideas (as in, Jeepers Mom, the 49674 years you already have been living MIGHT have bestowed wisdom upon you!).
Sigh.
But anywhos, definitely an improvement. Not only that, but the kid realized that maybe as well (just maybe), being a jerk to your siblings will actually have repercussions (in that nobody wants to talk with you).
And instead of trying to justify the actions, the kid took *owership* and apologized.
So that is being repaired as well.
‘Tis all good!

Even if you can excuse yourself for running yourself down in exhaustion because after all, family comes first….
Do try to take care of yourself as well.
I’d like to basically sleep thru the entire weekend and perhaps come, say, 2024, I can return to life, liberty and the pursuit of coffee. 🙂
