Hole #1: Little Data Tracking
I recently had to run at night on a mountain trail. If I hadn’t had my headlamp, what would have happened? I’d have literally bit the dirt (and probably a granite rock the size of grandma).
Lack of data tracking is like lack of headlamp on mountain trails at night. The light gives me visual data on the trail so I can change course when needed.
Same with sales funnels. If you don’t have data on your middle conversions, you have no idea what’s working and what isn’t. All you have is the result.
You can’t fix the holes in your sales funnel because you aren’t actually looking for holes. You’re a Sales Jumblie ignoring your friends who think you’re gonna drown!
Hole #2: Follow Up?
Sales funnels are never set it and forget it. Yet, 48% of sales reps must think this is true. They never follow up with a prospective or a lead.
Sometimes it takes as many as 12 contacts to make a sale. That’s the full definition of try-try-again. If you think 12 follow-ups is a waste of your time, maybe you should go and do something else.
Hole #3: Wasting Time With Lead Generation
You can find a billion articles online about lead generation. It’s a hot topic.
They think that if they stuff as many people as possible into their funnel more people will drop through.
The problem is: at a certain point, the same number of people drop through no matter how many leads you generate. It’s like a conventional real-life funnel. The end is only so big.
Stop lead generation research right now. You probably get enough leads already. You’re wasting your time and expending too much energy. Just relax, ok?

It’s Sunday!
Well, gnope, its not.
It’s still Saturday at around 8pm.
Saturday was quite the adventure. Large Item Dropoff was scheduled from 8am until 2pm. And we had 3 separate minivans’ full of *stuff* to drop off – all of the old construction stuff that’s been standing in the Gathering Dusk (quick! Nostalgia funny – who remember this?
Bless my dad – he’s the one who had me listening to this in my single digit years. And yes, the Gathering Dusk line happens near, towards the end. Quite a grand meander down memory lane!
But I digress.
After the 3rd trip, I made sure to visit our local Dunkin Donuts and return with a Box ‘o Joe and a dozen donuts for the outdoors workers – it was cold, rainy, icky, the kind of cold that settles into your bones and all around quite the blah-like temps.
I always like delivering this – makes the worker feel appreciated and wow, with some of the entitlement I see in the world….
It’s a good thing to make others feel grand.
Later on, I was able to catch up on some sleep (yay!).
But yep, the day sure was heck, and found me doing bunches of bedrest. My own saga of heck!
At around 6pm however, I realized that I had neglected to do my FB Live. I was basically on bedrest for the rest of the day, but I did manage it over here!

Tomorrow is going to be Large Item Dropoff Day, so this afternoon, my kid and husband and I decided to get stuff organized.
a *lot* of stuff.
Lots of it went to Goodwill (the husband says that’s a tax deduction) and the rest will be packed into the MooseMobile tomorrow for fun and excitement.
And! I did get to the gym (yay!) and did get a vaguely decent workout done (yay part 2!) so, well… yay!

I decided to get back into doing FB live broadcasting, and as usual, the Beak of Doom had to get into it himself.
Sometimes I think he is ‘way more of a star than me! 🙂
