It’s Saturday!
Actually, gnope – it’s still Friday at around 6:15pm.
Very … grrrrrrrrrr day.
Woke up with back seceding.
Got to see the doc (yay!)
Was basically told, see if the flareup disappears on its own (I had a similar thingee 10 months ago).
So I’m basically on bedrest for the next few days.
But still above ground so yay!
In other news, I’m basically working from bedrest for the next few days.
Ah well, things could always be below ground!

One of the *smartest* things you can do to increase your bottom line profits is to have your own blog.
The benefits are truly stellar:
* You own your blog, so companies like Facebook or Twitter can’t delete your wisdom
* You can promote anything you’d like (your own products, your affiliate links, the books you’ve written, your Fiverr gigs, CPA goodies….)
* As time goes by, you can build up your long-term reputation that can be easily verified by sites like the WayBack Machine over at web.archive.org
and more!
What more, I hear you ask?
More like… building your list!
Growing your fanbase!
And one way to help with that is to ensure your blog posts are not only engaging…
But scannable as well!

In a nutshell, a scannable blog post is one that allows the readers to quick decide whether its worthy of their attention to *stop* scanning and instead, read it in depth.

And….. Where was I?
Ah yes!
It’s Friday!
Actually, gnope – it’s still Thursday at around 6:15pm.
Very … character-building day in a good way was Thursday.
Remember how yesterday my back fell off basically?
And it got better after a good nights’ sleep?
Well on Thursday, got to the pool (yay!).
Did a GoodWill run (yay!).
Came home (yay!).
Got ready to prepare for the DennisAndBarb webinar and….
An hour before that happened, my back went out again.
And here’s what happened”
=-=-= The Art of Breaking the Cycle =-=-=
Story time!
One of the things my mom had a positive flair and gift for…
… was pretending poor health simply could not happen.
An astonishing gift this was, given how she ended up dying of sanctioned starvation after 11 days.
But that’s not the point of this particular post.
I inherited my mom’s condition, see (its what has caused my ankle fusion/knee smooshing/everything going >boom!< every now and then).
And now as I see myself growing older than 29, I’m finding my body discovering ever new and exciting ways to degenerate.
These things happen.
Thing is… when new levels of sheer insanity are achieved (aka today), my immediate desire is to totally ignore it, in hopes it goes away.
Luckily, my spouse of 26 years will always (but always) call me on it.
Thing is… after today’s bout of ridiculousness (ie my back went out again about an hour prior to the webinar), I let my husband know how I was taking care of myself (ie throwing every pain med at it) and my intention was to verify he was taking care of himself as well.
Instead, his *first* reaction was, ahem. This scenario really shouldn’t be happening, you should schedule a doc appt to get xrays of your spine to see if there’s any new inhabitants on it (aks exostoses, aka lumps of cartilege that sprout up for no particular reason).
It’s a testimony to my emotional self-defense that such a thing never even occurred to me until the husband mentioned it.
However, as much as I hate it, I *will* break the cycle my mom passed down.
Ever since the first surgery at… age… ? in my 20s, my mom was very reluctant that I do such things. After all, surgery could make it *worse*.
Falling down while standing in the Rutgers bus convinced me I was willing to take the chance with me first surgery
As did falling down on the small hill at Bell Labs (second surgery)
As did my ankle utterly collapsing the day after the most glorious Dennis Becker‘ Earn1KaDay event back in 2012. I was able to get my ankle fused 2 months later, and at that moment, things seemed to go back to steady-state (3rd surgery)
I had more lumps removed in 2014 or so (4th surgery)
And while I’m definitely okay with exostoses on my limbs, I’m not too thrilled with them possibly popping up on my spine.
But these things happen.
The first doc appt is tomorrow late afternoon, made with great reluctance BUT…
… I know the husband is right.
So your takeaway?
If you have great health, *treasure* it. Because when its taken away from you, wow, *fun* … it ain’t.
And please – do NOT be dumb and ignore warning signs.
The world is a FAR better and brighter place with you in it.
NEVER forget that, okay?
And life goes on.

But every day above ground – a good day indeed!
