It’s Saturday!
Actually no, it’s still Friday… 8pm?
But anywhos. Wow.
Friday was a MASSIVELY character building day (but for a good reason!).
Let’s simply say that for about 24 hours or so, one of my kids and I basically ignored each other (in our individual process to get over the turbulence from 2 days ago).
This morning, I had to take the kid to visit a friend, so we finally had it out, so to day.
You know, parenting these days…
‘WAY different than my generation!
But in this case… it would have been totally unfair for me to say, I was blameless in the past situation.
And the kid, bless kid’s heart, had enough confidence (and calmness) to get thru to me (aka no raised voice, no overpowering emotions, etc.etc.etc.).
Now, my parents… well, they would never admit if they were wrong.
Never apologize.
And that messed me up rather bigtime, alas.
So! Our conversation this morning was beyond grand (it really was). Lots of calm pointing out the issues on both our sides, lots of apologies, lots of commitment to try and do this talk-stuff better….
I am very grateful indeed to my guardian angel for this.
Came home, updated the husband (who was also worried) and yep… all was grand.
So happy!
In other news, more and more people who are reviewing this are just eating it up…..
So yay!
It will probably go live Sunday morning.

Hole #1: Little Data Tracking
I recently had to run at night on a mountain trail. If I hadn’t had my headlamp, what would have happened? I’d have literally bit the dirt (and probably a granite rock the size of grandma).
Lack of data tracking is like lack of headlamp on mountain trails at night. The light gives me visual data on the trail so I can change course when needed.
Same with sales funnels. If you don’t have data on your middle conversions, you have no idea what’s working and what isn’t. All you have is the result.
You can’t fix the holes in your sales funnel because you aren’t actually looking for holes. You’re a Sales Jumblie ignoring your friends who think you’re gonna drown!
Hole #2: Follow Up?
Sales funnels are never set it and forget it. Yet, 48% of sales reps must think this is true. They never follow up with a prospective or a lead.
Sometimes it takes as many as 12 contacts to make a sale. That’s the full definition of try-try-again. If you think 12 follow-ups is a waste of your time, maybe you should go and do something else.
Hole #3: Wasting Time With Lead Generation
You can find a billion articles online about lead generation. It’s a hot topic.
They think that if they stuff as many people as possible into their funnel more people will drop through.
The problem is: at a certain point, the same number of people drop through no matter how many leads you generate. It’s like a conventional real-life funnel. The end is only so big.
Stop lead generation research right now. You probably get enough leads already. You’re wasting your time and expending too much energy. Just relax, ok?

Actually no, it’s still Thursday…. 7:30pm I think?
But anywhos. Wow.
Have you ever lost patience with a close friend or family member, and allowed that to show up?
The thing that makes it worse?
If the person in question *really* needed to talk…. and you basically brushed it off. 🙁
I did that.
And upon realizing it, I felt such shame. 🙁
So, I called up and apologized. Ego is pretty worthless, you know, if you put it ahead of folks you care about… and say impatient things.
You know, I’m generally really good about not being stupid but yep…. I outdid myself in stupidity indeed.
Argh.
I’m still processing the lingering aftereffects but plan on telling my kids the whole story so perhaps they could learn from me.
Then again, given how you simply cannot put an old head on a young body…..
I realize it will take *maturity* (which you kinda sorta can’t force anyways) so yep.
Parenting ’tis a hero’s journey.
In other news, more and more people who are reviewing this are just eating it up…..
So yay!
