Where was I? Ah yes, Sunday!
Gotta love it when life gets in the way.
I was all set on finishing my latest yesterday….
… was up from 1am, zooming along….
And then one of my kids took umbrage at one of my ideas and blah.
That caused a chain reaction (as this same thing happened LAST week with a different kid) and I, well, bagged everything and decided I could finish it all today.
Which I’m doing.
Gosh my life. It’s so exciting. Yes indeed.
Which brings me to the latest IM drama!
There was supposed to be a launch entitled “Junk Traffic Alchemy.” Thing is, the premise did NOT work.
And some marketers tested it out, discovered that, and contacted the folks responsible.
One person apologized. Another colleague of said person took the opportunity continue to beat up said person….
…. who then deactivated his FB profile.
Now, I have no problem in calling out people.
I have a HUGE problem with people continuing to gang up on someone.
So I wrote:
“Simple Spencer deactivated his FB account, due, I would suppose, by the reaction to him being part of the Junk Traffic launch. He had posted an apology afterwards which several people chose not to accept.
I personally think he made a hugely bad choice and was trying to own up to it (he admitted that).
I also think that nobody but NOBODY knows what is going on in his life OUTSIDE of FB (me included). And nobody but nobody knows what additional personal life factors, beyond the hype and froth of IM, might be affecting him as well.
Am I glad the launch was cancelled? Heck yes. It would have been a huge disservice to people who bought.
Am I glad he deactivated his FB account? Hell no. People screw up. My gosh, look at how many people are worshiping Perry Belcher today given how many millions of dollars he scammed years and years ago. So freakin’ hypocritical.
In closing, I don’t think you should kick people when they are down.
Before you go all sanctimonious on ANYONE, you should at least give time for the person to heal (because when someone is actively down and hurting, all you’re doing is beating on someone who is already out for the count).
Note – I am NOT referring to Andy Brocklehurst or Brett Rutecky in this post (I appreciated their headsup about it all). I AM referring to all those HolierThanThou peoples who then basically took Simple Spencer’s apology and used that as an excuse to trash him more today.
And that, my friends, is why I choose to absence myself from the vast majority of IM drama and live in my happy little IM bubble.
It’s a much saner way to live life.

One of the joys of being a 21 year old hot star model is the immense amount of privacy issues, I suppose.
Personally I wouldn’t know, as I’m a 50+ year old handicapable woman who is waiting for her body to say YES momopause or NOT momopause. Suffice it to say, massive amounts of emotions rocked my family (okay me). Cried 15 minutes straight to my husband who very kindly explained some of the issues that were bothering me (deals with being a caucasian mom to bi-racial kids; my husband was a supervisor at Bell Labs and he himself had dealt not only with racism but reverse racism as well).
Got it out of my system so yay.
In other Lingland news, I realized that as I’m already a seasoned product creator, I simply cannot pretend to be a newbie (because people are automatically made aware of my product releases).
This… is quite the wibblehead to me.
So, at some point, I will go undercover and start my newbizing myself. Wah.
