Yesterday was also decent!
Got this awesome mug in the mail from my colleague, Tiffany Lambert:

And while I did NOT alas get to the gym….
I continued in my convos with both my younger kids.
Lots of character-building Kid3 is dealing with, and also some things Kid4 wanted to talk with me about.
I remember from that time, yep… growing up was really difficult for me as well, and I’m glad there is ‘way more communications taking place about it.

If you can get past the teenage attitude at times…..
You *might* be able to foster communications that *work*.
So I’m glad I did.
See, one thing I *hated* regarding my mom:
She could never ever apologize if she was wrong.
It was so weird.
And actually for me, rather damaging. So I made it a point that if I ended up with the wrong take myself, I *would* apologize….
…. as I don’t think that causes a power struggle.
Other folks mileage may vary however.

Yep, entirely Saturday!
OK true, it’s 3:14am, but yep… Saturday.
Yesterday was rather decent.
Exercised at home, and was able to take the 2 youngest out to see the movie Crazy Rich Asians.
Given that my kids are Amerasian, they related quite a lot to several points in the movie, and enjoyed it greatly.
Things are still character-building with one kid, but its a parent’s responsibility to do what is best…
… and not what the kid wants.
Kid is still making peace with that, and I’m still being quite unmovable in some things.
So, we’ll see.
