Ever wake up one morning and say to yourself:
“Jeepers self, I have failed so spectacularly at ( health / business / relationships / profit / kindness / you name it / I failed at it etc. ) that every morning I wake up and think to meself:
“Why? Why even bother, it will NEVER improve!”
If so, I can so relate.
Trying and failing again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and …
Well, it gets old REAL fast-like, you know?
Thing is…
If you keep on banging your head against a brick wall because it feels so good when you stop, perhaps…
Perhaps you should consider approaching things *differently* and taking your time with them.

Remember, while it’s always tempting to blame others for your failures, in the vast majority of cases…
Those failures lie with *you*.
And that’s okay, you know…
Because that means *you* can choose to own the keys towards improving the future!
Some ways you can do that include:
Shedding the ego – ‘taint nothing wrong with saying, yep, I goofed. And if anyone else decides to come down upon you for it, bleep ’em – that’s their own insecurities talking.
Researching online ways to do things better – virtually guaranteed – anything you want to learn how to to improve, you can find resources online that will point you in that exact direction.
For example, try these searches:

www.google.com/search?q=how+do+i+lose+weight+if+i+can%27t+walk+well

You want to learn it – it’s there.
But being there isn’t good enough… you also have to take ownership and do!
You can look up 97497645 zillion tutorials but if you refuse to give yourself permission to try, fail, learn from the mistakes, and try again…
You’ll only be shooting yourself in the foot.

And….. Where was I?
Ah yes!
It’s Tuesday!
Monday was actually rather decent, although most of it spent in working on the future templates and the like. The bedrest from before definitely helped… and tomorrow, the husband and I will check out the new gym we’ll be attending (as our current gym lacks the needed pool this time).
And I wrote our first DAB story:

Drumroll please for… it’s DABSS StoryTime!
(ahem)
“Once upon a time, there once was a little girl who had a very terribly dreadful temper, the kind that would cause famished Blue Screens of Death to devour entire desktops at the most inopportune moments (product launches ring a bell?).
But hope gradually shone like a bright and light to her parents!
Skilled in the ways of Dialectic Behavioral Therapies, her parents decided to hand her a bag of nails (I mean, hey, why not? Gummy Bears would definitely NOT have worked) and said that every time the girl lost her temper, she had to hammer a nail into that sad unassuming fence that had done nothing to anyone but still… had to bear the brunt of her anger.
On the first day, the girl hammered 5,483 nails into that iron fence (did I mention her awesome strength, much that of the legendary warrior She-Ra?). Massive anger issues, see, for alas, although much loved, she had never really internalized DBT (but that’s a story for another Portal and galaxy).
However, I digress.
The girl gradually began to control her temper over the next few centuries, and the number of nails she was smashing into the long-suffering fence slowly decreased, until finally…
…She discovered it was easier to *control* her temper (perish the thought! Self-control!) than to pit her strength and wits and massively buff biceps and continue smooshilating said fence.
Finally, the day came when the girl didn’t lose her temper at all.
So you know how the rest of the story goes, right?
She immediately compiled everything she had learned and put out a brand new digital product!
And because she was (unbeknownst to her parents) secretly a First One, born with the knowledge of the Heart of Etheria, it caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey, caused several server meltdowns and ATMs to start literally forcing people to profit online, and eventually brought peace and justice to the entire known galaxy and small furry animal communities alike.
Okay, just joshin’ y’all.
Instead, she told her parents the TrueNews (not to be confused with FakeNews) and the parents suggested that the girl should now pull out a nail every day she kept her temper under control.
As you can see, her parents were truly skilled in the concept of “worthy awards” and secretly had bets with the rest of the townsfolk as to how long it would take for such a challenge to be completed (the data gathered from this experiment would later be compiled into the very first case study of its time, but that’s not all! If you’re going to creatively parent… might as well turn THAT into a product too!).
The days passed and the young girl (for one is only as old as one feels!) was finally able to tell her parents that all the nails, every single itty bitty teeny tiny itsybitsy ones of them, were gone.
Gone, gone
Gone with the hogshead cask and demijohn
Gone with the sugar barrel pickle barrel, milk pan
Gone with the tub and the pail and the tierce
2nd Salesman
Ever meet a fellow by the name of Hill?
Drat that digressing again!
The parents took their child by the hand, led her to the fence, and taking a deep breath, prepared to deliver the soul-searingly power PWoW3984 (Parental Words of Wisdom #3984):
‘You have done well, our extremely stubborn yet lovable child, but look at the holes in the fence.
That fence will never be the same (at which time the fence thought to itself, “Jeepers, ya think?”).
When you say things in anger, they leave scars just like these (cue the fence snorting quietly to itself).
Even if you physically hurt someone… it won’t matter how many times you say I’m sorry, the wound is still there.’”
Now, normally this particular brand of story ends *here*.
But in DABssLand, we have one more rather piercingly important point to make.
Remember that poor meek and humble fence that had zero say in the whole horrible mess?
How many times are *you* that fence, ie, …
==> collateral damage? <==
Hmmmm?
You may feel “held hostage” by forces beyond your control… and “compelled” to stay in one place because the heck you know is less frightening than trying to change your surroundings and give yourself permission to *move* and *grow*.
But consider this.
You can never (never ever ever!) change how other people (friends, family, business folk, vendors, customers, Etherians, etc.) act.
BUT….
You always CAN choose tochange how you choose to *react*.
Choose wisely.

Ah yes!
It’s Monday!
And wow oh wow, don’t you just LOVE it when things kinda sorta come together?
Yesterday was the day that the husband and I were supposed to drive my youngest to school.
Thing is, the husband and I both were a weeeeeee bit nonoptimal.
So, my youngest had the chore of scheduling up all the train rides, connections and the like. And that was done fantastically!
Thus, finally, after almost a month… life is back to the status quo in LingLand!
The reaction on my body? A sense of “mission completed, I can now collapse in a heap”… which I did and just…. oh… *wow*.
Worked on products a bit, spent time with the husband a bit, got onto bedrest for the leg a bit…
And I’m feeling mighty gratitude from the Universe regarding it all (Mo, the Amazing Mowing PiggieMoose also agrees with me:
(Lots of times when I’m on bedrest, I bring Mo next to me in his cute little hot pink cuddlecup. 🙂 )
Anywhos!
At some point, I’ll be able to share just exactly what smooshed me during the past few days. But for now, I can share with you… this!
It truly IS okay to have bad moments as well as the good.
And if people perceive you as weak for being transparent….
They simply show their own insecurities.
