Very happy with how it turned out!

It’s Monday!
Actually gnope, it’s Sunday at around 9:15pm and for the VERY first time in my life…
I have attended a watch party!!
’twas with some of my kids and we watched Star Trek Discovery together even though we were thousands of miles away…
We could all enjoy it together!
REALLY enjoyed it bigtime.
In other news, I wrote the following:

What does that mean for you?
For me, it means the day that someone crossed the line… and you realize things can never be the same.
How do you deal with that when it happens?
I can assure you, it’s a gut-punch.
And its something you cannot just “make go away”.
Communications definitely can help, mind you…
… but you have to both be ready to be open and show tolerance to each other.
And reaching *that* point is something that can take quite some time.
So! How do you handle it, when you feel your heart was literally broken?…” (lots more followed)
In a nutshell, that basically described… what I was going thru.
And yep – I must have listened to this song on repeat for hours today.
But then! I remembered what my magnificent colleague, Dennis Becker had recommended…

It’s Sunday!
To say yesterday was a wee bit would be like saying, blue skies are blue.
Know what I mean?
However, I did decide to be wise and take a husband date to Harolds in Woodbridge:
Thats the place where the pastrami is about 4 inches high (husband loves that) and the steak Caesar salad was quite yummy too.
And that ultimate challenge
One of my kids mentioned that UBER is splitting costs for something or other, so his bank account went below the minimum amount.
His reaction? “Mom, it’s not my fault! ”
I’ve got news for that kid – the real world wouldn’t care whose fault it is, which is why having more than the bare minimum is a Good Thing.
You know something?
More than ever, kids NEED to take ownership for their actions
So yep, quite the character-building day.
We’ll see what today has in store for you…

And….. Where was I?
It’s Saturday!
You know something?
While growing up can be a hero’s journey, so is parenting.
Yesterday saw many a miscommunication between one of my kids and me. And while intellectually I can understand the angst and such that caused it….
… emotionally, it was pretty trying indeed.
The hell of it was after the kid had answered one of my questions, I had then gone to the pool for swimming, so didn’t see the kids response for an hour… during which, said kid kinda sorta imploded a wee bit.
Got hit with quite a lot after returning from swimming.
Its at times like that that I realize I’ve been too understanding about some things in the past. So ideally, I can change that for the future because if one day I’m hit by a low-flying asteroid, my kids need to be able to be self-sufficient and cognizant about the real world.
Honestly, yesterday was one of those days from hell that take a lot out of you. :-/
Not to mention, my ankle decided to figuratively fall off, so being off my feet was most of yesterday. It looked like it sprouted mushrooms. 🙁 But I’m still above ground… so yay. 🙂
So we’ll see how today goes. Perhaps there will be a movie that’s worthy of attending.
We’ll see!
