First off, my apologies.
Saturday was quite frankly a day of, ahem, heck….
And I neglected to get up in time to send out my morning newsletter…
So I do apologize for not getting out that morning Perkup.
To ensure this doesn’t happen today (Monday), I’m writing this at around, oh, 8:30pm on Sunday.
That way I can be assured I can at least queue it up… so yay number N where N is pretty darned huge at this moment.
As usual the theme in LingLand was the never ending glorious joy of bunches of kid angst.
And while I know my kid must walk this path by himself (my husband and I can only witness it), I did do a DD run:
Its such a tough art to walk the line between knowing when kids are receptive… and when they’re not. Thus, non-verbal actions on my part definitely seems to help.
Plus! I was thinking bunches about being a shy individual… and yet still having to “meet” (even virtually) people to build up my business.
So I wrote this:
“=-=-= The Art of Profitable Shyness-infused Scary Realities of Life: Part 1 =-=-=
Ever wake up one morning and say to yourself:
“Jeepers self, I’m shy!”
Most likely, chances are that you’re a bit more modernized and wouldn’t sing out “jeepers!” Instead you might find yourself trying out:
“Woke, self, I am, shyness uncovered prior to declaration!”
or
“23 Skidoo Woohoo Shyness Shyness Go Boo Hoo!”
Is it a nice normal 4am yet so I can sleep?
But I digress. 
One of the key strengths I have in business is I am unbelievably shy…
… but most folk who know me would never even entertain that thought.
After all, during my hey-day of releasing products every, oh, 54 minutes, I’d proactively contact potential JVs, write up everything that needed to be done, post up a storm on FB and forums, uncover answers that other people were too lazy to discover themselves… and let myself *shine*.
Wanna know how I pull it off soooo very easily indeed?
It’s because I (hardly ever) actually verbally *talk* to people.
Because talking to people is tooooo scary for me!
Well, not scary per-se…. at times, I find my mind encounters the fears of:
* How do I make small talk?
* How do I assert myself if I end up dealing with a tweeblehead?
* What is the air-speed velocity of an Unladen Swallow?
* What if the person I’m chatting to drones on sooooo long, spiderwebs start to randomly pop up on the phone?
And other thingees like that.
In the past, it’s been quite crippling indeed. You can relate, right? I mean, reflect over the past year on the number of misses you, ummmm, missed due to your fear of shyness being too much.
Anything pop up?
Yep, I can see you nodding your head over there!
But guess what….
Such things generally never bother me today.
Wanna know how I managed to conquer these fears?
‘Course you do! But before I share *that*, allow me to ask *you* the following qestions.
* Are you trying to profit online?
* Do you *hate* the concept of selling?
* Are you so shy that your shadow fearfully detaches itself and hides on a sun-drenched white sand beach overflowing with gorgeously buff Members of the Appropriate Sex (like MacGyver, which I’m sure Tiffany Rae Lambert would agree) … so you never can see it?
* Do you give rent-free space in your mind to (pardon the expression) tiny-dicked, emotionally frustrated peers who are calling you names…. and allow it to stop your business?
Hmmm?
If you’ve answered YES to any of the above questions, congratulations!
You actually communicated without any verbal interactions.
Well, yes, I know, “Duh!” but stay with me here… the following is *key*!
Think on the earlier bullet points.
Is there really a difference between verbal communications and non-verbal communications with your peers?
Heck yes (the main one being, you dont get fanged butterflies executing a minature rodeo in tummy at the fearful notion of actually speaking outloud)!
And that’s one of the best ways to profit from your shyness; take advantage of your condition and make it work for *you*.
I should know, as I’ve been rather successful these past years….
*Without* verbally talking to anyone (the 2 exceptions I can remember include my unbelievably grand parter Dennis Becker, and being interviewed by the inspiring Henry Gold, a man who has overcome SO much… he should travel the world for motivational speaking).
‘Sides that, virtually all of my business is done the via tap tap tap on my keyboard keyboard keyboard.
And yet, last year, I was the number 2 affiliate on W+!
Isn’t that a glorious 23 skidoo’s worth of rare Jeepers… jeeping?
Hmmmm?
And the best part about it… it’s something *anyone can do*…. not just me.
Which brings me to the following.
Just HOW does one go about becoming a super, profitable, desirable by that extremely hot Arun Chandran marketer while being painfully shy in the first place?

It’s actually still Friday! A bit before 12am….
Mainly because today was… character-building indeed.
Let’s see.
Didn’t get to the gym (wah!).
However, the husband took out kid4 for father/son time and school supply shopping – they were out for 3 hours! Apparently Sears had some awesomely great deals regarding such things.
And because its been awhile since both kids are at home, I went to Shoprite to pick up ground beef, and then the local Korean grocery store for the veggies (love supporting local businesses!).
Alas, didn’t take any pix of it all, but it did work out grand – hamburger mix that included steak seasoning, scallions, a bit of soy sauce and an egg, all mixed together and cooked… this!
Family loved it!
But returning to the topic…
So what’s the thing about accepting hell?
This is what I wrote:
“…=-=-= The Art of Accepting Heck, but then Conquering Reality =-=-=
Ever wish the world operated in the way YOU decree it should?
Ever decide you’re going to change the world in the way you see fit?
Interestingly enough… that *can* be done BUT…
… generally only with the scope of your local surroundings.
Case in point – Almost 2 years ago, Kid4 spear-headed a campaign to get better mental health teachings in middle school. He researched and presented his points about how when you catch a kid’s emotional pain/angst/difficulties early on school, there’s far more of a probability of said kid staying stable and learning mechanisms to cope.
He was invited to present his findings to several board members in that school….
… and last year was told that because he started the ball rolling, the school curriculum would be changed to include a number of his suggestions.
Now, ask yourself.
Did this change the world?
Gnope.
But!
Did it change the community he touched?
YES indeed!
His efforts resulted in something that can help ALL the kids in my town’s school.
And this change *never* would have happened… if he didn’t discover *how* to present his thoughts so his audience would *listen* and *not* tune themselves out.
So what’s your takeaway?
It’s this.
If you want *change*… you have to:
a.) Put in the effort to build up your case
b.) Ensure you do NOT step on anyone’s toes (if those anyones have the power to squash your message)
c.) If it doesn’t work right away, do not lose hope – it took over a year for the changes to be accepted).
d.) Big huge protests are fine and dandy, but remember that the people behind them who are pulling the strings – if you get shot/smooshed/arrested etc., it does not affect the string-pullers at all. You’re considered expendable.
Do NOT be expendable.
Do NOT unquestioningly follow the herd.
And follow the money trail (which is often hidden) whenever possible. The results of that might be truly eye-opening indeed.
