Ah yes, it’s Tuesday!
At around… 12:30am.
Wow I’m tired.
Today was spent finalizing the next Dennis and Barb launch…
… Because my earlier ideas for the sales funnel had to be moved around (I originally had focused the launch on blog posts, but then moved it over to affiliate marketing).
So I wrote on my wall:
[ Pro Marketing Tip ]
If you find yourself sketching out a sales funnel and then change the premise of the front end …
… make sure you change your upsells/downsells to complement THAT new idea.
I had (still have) a glorious idea for made-for-you future enhancements that I realize now … do NOT fit into the new product launch.
These things happen. And rather than simply keeping the funnel as it was, I’m now restructuring it to provide ‘way better value for the customer (not to mention, increased commissions to the affiliates!).
Your takeaway? Ego has no place in marketing (believing in your personal greatness, btw, is NOT ego – it’s simple common sense).
Don’t be afraid to admit your initial vision now doesn’t fit with your current vision… and adapt as necessary.

Ah yes, it’s Monday!
And oh my freakin’ earlobes.
What a day.
Remember how I had mentioned the teenage angst yesterday?
Well, this morning, there were still some issues… so I had the kids to more conflict resolution thingees (aka, one person says what they thought happened, the other repeats back and follows up with, did I get it right? The first person either says yes, or clarifies if there’s still issues, etc.etc.etc.etc.).
It went *really* well.
Took them out for breakfast afterwards, and then to see Captain Marvel.
SUCH A GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!
And the best scene was the following (it’s white on white text, so you need to highlight it – no real spoilers, but it made me shriek with laughter, geek that I am:
The search engine Captain Marvel used was AltaVista (complete with “connecting network” icon)! 🙂
So much fun.
Truly, I do NOT understand the torrents of angry folk who tried downvoting the movie even before it was released, and the lies some social media users tried to spread (aka no white males are welcome at the movie! That was TOTAL BS – here’s the actual quote:
“…Now the more complicated one. Did Brie Larson say that Captain Marvel “wasn’t made for” white men?
No, she did not. However, last year, she did make comments along those lines about the film, A Wrinkle in Time. When the film was released, it received mixed reviews, and people noted that the reviews seemed split among gender and race. AND!
The best part – the kids had YAM (yet another miscommunication) and THIS time… I suggested they try to work it out *without* my intervention.
15 minutes later, I was called into the living room and they gleefully told me – we did it! We figured out where the issues were, how we communicate differently, why we make assumptions and all the like.
It’s moments like that that make parenting really and truly worth while. 🙂
However, the husband had a great time! And Kid3 talked Chinese with all the attendees (yay!) and Kid4 and friend had a good time as well.
Came home, had to deal with some teenage angst (went well!) and decided to let the husband know (from my viewpoint, it was not stressful, it was part of the joys of raising kids).
Apparently Chinese parents view it… differently.
I *still* can’t get over how after 25 years, my husband and I STILL have ‘waaaaay differing ideas regarding some aspects of parenting.
So… what was *supposed* to be a nice way to close out the day ended up with me allowing myself to get quite stressed and say, please forget I said anything.
Sigh.
’tis all good mind you, but wow, I SO did not need that.
Sigh part 2.

Basically because for whatever reason, my feet started to, well, freeze.

However, the husband had a great time! And Kid3 talked Chinese with all the attendees (yay!) and Kid4 and friend had a good time as well.
