Taking care of family.

One of my kids called me.
And we talked for over an hour.
And after that – let’s just say sleep was part of the impossible dream.

True, I’m totally smooshed NOW, but hey.
I’ll get thru it.

One of my kids rhapsodized about the Quantum Realm in Antman and the Wasp….
So I figured, go see the movie so I could talk intelligently about it.
My take?
The movie was bunches of rollicking fun…. and the highlight for me?
They showed tardigrades!!!! (my fav Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery, encountered a man-sized Tardigrade who could travel across time and space.
SO COOL!!
‘sides that, yesterday was nice and quiet…. worked on my latest product, talked bunches with the family….
… and I decided that because it’s 1:15am right now, might as well write the 6am newsletter and sleep in. 🙂

Sleep schedule still kinda sorta hosed but…. I’m feeling ‘way more alive!
Thing is:
Keeping your mouth shut.
In a nutshell, this is what I wrote.

“Ever go thru some horrendously challenging times in your life?
Chances are, yep, you have.
Well then!
Ever make the astonishingly thick-witted decision of trusting someone with that knowledge…
… and then being judged more sternly than Judge Judy on a bad Idjut-encounter-day?
Yep. Story of my life.
The details are not important, however, the lessons are *gold*.
Not everyone on this planet will *get* you.
And of those who DO *get* you…
Not everyone of them understand just why you choose to not go with the flow.
You know something?
That is *okay*.
Nobody HAS to agree with your ideas.
And heck, they might even have some useful input for you to evaluate as well.
But the main thing is – there are levels of trust you should have with folk.
And while some people might be magnificent colleagues for you in your industry, that does NOT mean they will be able to understand all the factors involved.
That’s okay, too.
To be honest, you have only yourself to blame if you choose to share unwisely.
Nobody else.
So what’s the solution?
Simple.
You, and *only* you – well, you know *all* of the data. Not just bits and pieces.
And really really REALLY seriously question yourself why you might even *be* considering talking over your concerns.
It’s your life.
Yours, and yours alone (well, okay its your family’s life too).
If you have weighed the checks/balances/forwards/backwards/sidewards/ups/downs/possibilities/magic/destiny and all that jazz…
… Have the *confidence* that for better or worse, you’re choosing the best option known to you *today*.
Yep, tomorrow might change your reactions.
If it does – re-evaluate based upon new data.
But don’t go sharing it to people who don’t understand, and who might judge you instead.
You’re the adult… act like one.

That happened to me yesterday.
One of my kids is on a particularly character-building journey…
…. one that I went on myself, decades ago….
And I’m letting the kid solve it (mainly because, at that age…. parents *can’t* solve it for their kids). They must walk the path themselves.
It’s tough… but it’s part of growing up.
