Sure… WordPress makes site building sooo easy, its virtually fill-in-the-blanks –
Pick a theme
Customize it to your desire
Turn your site on the way you’d like
But what if…
What if you actually don’t WANT to use WordPress?
Are you up the proverbial paddle without the creek?
After all, WordPress has slightless less than a bazillion moving parts, and when you add in WP Plugins, you might find yourself eventually being hacked, your site bogging down and more.
But what IF you could actually build a marketing site with… HTML?
What then?
Well, of course, before you build a site… it would help if you could understand how site building (aka HTML) works.

has a nice nifty beginners guide to HTML and is definitely worthwhile reading!
Honestly HTML isn’t that difficult to learn, actually… you could even make a 1 page cheatsheet like so:
Step 1.) Beef up on HTML tutorials
Step 2.) Visit your fav WP sites, highlight a portion of the text, and then rightclick/view source
Step 3.) See how the code you’re now viewing… causes the display that you see.

It’s Wednesday!
Actually gnope – it’s still Tuesday around 8pm.
As you might imagine, yesterday was a total of … not goodness.
The 428 round trip drive done in 10+ hours did a number on me, but hey.
It’s what parents do.
Thing is, mentally I’m totally aware of that…
Physically, I am beyond smooshed.
Did a great webinar today, mind you, about the joys of PLR – that will be added to our DAB Coaching (which, btw, you can test out for only $10 over at askbling.com/dabcc3 )
Tomorrow will be more doctors visits, and then ideally… life will return to normal.

Ever wish that your ability to write grand enthralling stories within your email would magically spring into being….
… with nary an effort on your part?
Well then!
Alas, I hate to break it to you, but such push button glories are generally not within your grasp of creation (unless you write AI language bots) however…

has some rather interesting ideas on it.
These ideas include the Show, Don’t Tell Exercise:
Review the “to tell” statements and consider how you can prove these statements (such as he’s nervous, she’s lonely). How can you see or hear that someone is nervous or lonely? Which actions demonstrate it?
Write down two or three actions or sensory details that show rather than tell.
Compare your notes to the “to show” examples.
9 examples are included as well!
Such a concept could be made into a cheatsheet as well. You could break it down into:
Step 1.) Take advantage of story-telling tutorials
Step 2.) Craft your own email/sales copy, and then patiently scour it for examples of ‘showing’ and not ‘telling’.
Step 3.) Rewrite your sentences so your readers feel into the moment.

Sunday night was… character-building.
Let’s just say that I discovered my youngest needed to be home…
So I drove 428 miles in 10+ hours. Got here yesterday at 5:30am.
Wheeee!
Thus, my sleeping is slightly messed up a tad.
These things happen. 🙂
So as you might imagine, yesterday had very little accomplishments…
… except for the extremely cool fact that both me and my youngest can handle things that would rent other families apart. S I’m quite pleased with that.
Heck, by the time I got home, the dawn actually happened:
So yep – the whole adventure left me exhausted. But ’tis all good.
